People think those chippers are more dangerous then the auto feed ones. But actually lot safer.

@v3124 I have an older chipper similar it's a bandit conventional drum style. Also a auto feed one. Just can't rid of my old one has memories. 😢

You shouldve seen the crew i was on last year. One chip truck following a bucket and a jaraffe. Chippin from sun up to sun down. And the vermeer we had was like twice as big as this. I think the most full truck loads we had in a day was six or seven. Chip truck fully stocked was right at the 26-28k lb limit for non cdl license. They always told me not to get pulled over with a full load 😅

The good ole chuck and duck chippers. I used a 1979 Asplundh chipper in the early 1990's for our Street Department. They got the job done quickly.

Mitts and Merrill is a better chuck and duck. It has 12 knives staggered (on 16" superior model) so it is always getting hit with a knife and pulls way better and makes smaller chips that make better mulch. Asplundh just has 4 knives across the rotor.

Most part stores mine is early seventies and mo problem finding parts an many ford parts online but I prefer buying local auto zone . Orielly

That is not a Ford chipper. It's an old Asplundh 16" drum chipper with a Ford 330 V8 engine.

Dude I’m 16 and I was working with a tree cutter all summer and dude I was in charge of grabbing the branches and chipping them up and we had a old bandit chipper and it was as fast as this and I would have to chip up everything alone while my boss was up chopping but I hated dead branches because they would whip you so hard sometimes so mad respect to these guys working this type of work is hard very very hard

Oh yeah and these things are so powerful too you gotta make sure ur not tangled in a branch or it will tug u very hard and scare you 😂
