I hope the last 2 tricks work! One adaptor worked for 2 weeks then stopped working. I thought maybe something was wrong with the adapter so I bought another one in another brand and that one doesn't work either. I know the gears aren't the problem so I'll just try to take them out altogether.

He is not starting at the wrong end. His way you can pull out what you need and leave the rest tied. The last loop tied is the first to be untied. On 100 footers I double them over again and have 4 cords in each loop. Yeah, if I don't need it all, there is the tail of the other pair to deal with. But normally I do this for long term storage and a 100 foot cord ties up into a 6 foot length using 4 in each knot. If it's a daily thing I just wind them up like the gaffers and sparkys do on a movie set, One loop inward, next loop outward. Lay it down and it unwinds without bunching up. On 50 feet of less you can toss it out and it will land flat and not tangled. 25' is the optimal. Storing them long term leaves the cords kinda out of shape but they hang on much smaller hooks and take up less space being hung on a vertical surface. I do feel for the guys in cold weather. You need a silicone extension cord for low temps. Vinyl cords all daisy chained and cold are not fun. The bottom line is, if you have shit for a cord, no matter how you put it away it's going to act like a shit cord. My oldest cords are my best ones. I just keep putting new connections on them as long as they are not damaged. I tend to take multiple 12 ga 25 foot cords with me and join them as needed. Or gang them and have 4 tools plugged in at my work spot. Works great hanging doors when you need a few power tools for one job in one spot. Having 3 way plugs at the working end doesn't work well for me.

I tried all 3 and none worked. It just plays static with all the gears in, and spits the tape back out when I remove any.

BRILLIANT HACK THIS 👍 Uk. I done what you said, took all the plastic gears out, leaving the eject gear in. I have to put the adaptor in,press rewind,Then press forward so rewind button comes back out THEN the music starts playing fine. Nice to play music from my phone now. BRILLIANT HACK THIS IS.

Thank you soooooo much.....I hope this helps mine cause I riding and can't play my music. I hate the radio they only play three songs I like on the radio. So I'll try this later on this morning and hopefully this wrong. You where great at explaining in detail. When I put the adapter in the tape player and the arrow clicks up and down, basically switching from one side of the tape to the other side.

i tried all this before realizing it was a problem with the wires' connection to the circuit board. so for anyone reading this: if you're gonna open up your cassette adapter, the first thing you should look for (before taking out all the gears) is if the two tiny little wires are connected to the green chip. also, if your car isn't playing the right or left earbud's part of the song, one of the wires is probably already disconnected. when trying his advice to "take out all the gears", my car just started ejecting the adapter as soon as i put it in. i guess some cassette decks don't accept cassettes with gears missing.

Thanks for sharing your fix. I had replaced my Swaybar Links before (with same 10 inch) but it didn't fix my clunk (it got a little better for a week or less but that was it). Today I replaced the Swaybar Bushings and the link again (but with 12 inch links) and my clunk is gone. I noticed the old right side swaybar bushing and swaybar looked much more worn. This makes me think the RH side is heavier. Anyway, I sure hope it stays gone for good. Thanks again.

IN MY EXPERIENCE- People who don’t know the daisy chain method for power cords fight it so hard. I’ve had 2 guys come to me at work to tell me not to roll them up that way anymore. I guess I’ll have to reluctantly stop the daisy chain method from now on, for their convenience, and the sake of my job.
