Before 2011, Djokovic had trouble breathing because of his gluten diet, and he played with a weaker mind than Federer,this is the main reason for his frequent withdrawals and medical suspensions

I like how everyone is like "this is what motivated novak" Like no lol Both Andy and Roger were complaining about how Novak gives up when he's clearly about to lose. He may have cleaned up his act once he went gluten free but early in his career Novak was notorious for constantly quiting. Like people complain about Kyrgios nowadays quitting in middle of match sucking but Novak would just straight up be like my arm hards, it's too hot, I'm too sick. What roger and Andy said isn't motivation material they were literally being real about the type of behavior novak exhibited back then. Motivation is Andy and Roger saying well Novak for lucky winning the 2008 Aussie Open and Andy was clearly better. They didn't they called him out as constantly quitting which he did at the time.

Novak is indeed a sore loser. He acts like as if he is the nicest guy when everything is going his way otherwise he persistently yells, breaks rackets and comes up with his own charades during the match. Novak thought of retiring multiple times while hiding behind his health issues. This is why he is not respected as much as Rog and nadal. Yes he does have fans and so does Kyrgios/fognini/paire.

I was once a volunteer driver for a pro tournament where I got to drive Roddick from the court to the hotel. He is 1 super friendly chilled out guy. No ego whatsoever. Of course he had just won a close match but I was told by others he’s generally like that.

Kinda strange during the early years Novak was prone to retirements due to physical weakness, now he is probably one of durable players in history. (Would not be shocked if he is doing a Lance Armstrong). Either way his tennis is so boring, kinda like watching tennis vs a brick wall. (Maybe thats why he will never get the respect of a Federer or Nadal)...

Most people commenting obviously didn't follow Djokovic early in his career. This was quite common and a reason he isn't popular in the locker room or with the fans who remember.

I don't get it - why are people mad at Roger if you think this interview gave Djoker the motivation to go 'beast' mode? Clearly, Roger gave him some tough love and it worked. You should be thanking Fed.

@@battlimoss As I said, sometimes some harsh criticism is needed to set a person's priorities right. And clearly, it worked wonders for Novak. Any less disrespectful and it may not have had the impact it did on Novak.
@battlimoss5 ай бұрын
@@rahdisas even if that’s true (i don’t think it is), it doesn’t justify being disrespectful and the critics of Roger are still valid.

I don't find this interview disrespectful , Djokovic did that a lot of times and Roger was true

@@battlimoss I can understand what Roddick said might be construed as disrespectful. But Fed merely said the truth. If you notice, Novak got his act together after that.

After 15 years, he did not say anything wrong. If he had been an unreasonable hater of Novak, he would have been happy with Novak’s loss in the Australian Open, but he was disappointed because he had the mentality of winning and not giving up, while Novak was giving up in many matches with ridiculous excuses. And for those who say that they hate Novak because he is a competitor, what about Nadal, who knocked out Federer 6 times between 2005-2009, Federer was never rude.
@StopToBreathe5 ай бұрын
I emphasized with Roger here about the part of Novak constantly giving up. In hindsight, now that we know Novak had an undiagnosed celiac disease which he obviously didn't know about and neither did Federer. From Federer's point of view, as a tennis addict and a person who devoted his life to tennis, it does come across as disrespectful to just "give" up just from a slight inconvenience such as a sore throat. Everyone back then absolutely despised Novak for being a quitter but now the "fans" come out and try to trash on Federer because he didn't have the power of hindsight. This is the video where people quote that Roger didn't like Novak, false narrative when the media and even other tennis players back then spoke about Novak's decisions since it was such a huge deal. It wasn't Novak's fault he had this disease which caused him great pain in matches that lead to forfeits but it also wasn't Roger or the other player's fault to believe how soft they thought Novak was when Novak himself didn't address or was aware of his conditions.

He has beaten two big players novak and nadal in semi fnials and just came short of winning the RG. I hate you guys with your dumb arguments and shit. he is the fastest pacer and biggest hitter and at 30 is still around even with a wrist injury. Prime novak beaten by domi and fed beaten by him on his own hard court surface. the ratios point towards the austrian
