Just channeling my inner skyspec_auto… I think this setup is interesting because it feels less stable, but more controllable at the limit, than the ad09s

@ap2slowАй бұрын
Thanks! I think they’re actually an easy to drive tire, they break away pretty gradually at the limit. Although I don’t have a good point of reference, so I could be lying.
@skylerburton990324 күн бұрын
@@ap2slow This is my opinion of the A052, their breakaway is so linear it encourages confidence to approach and utilize the limit. So I could imagine it could apply to the Ad09 especially considering the siping, a nicely rotating tire for mixed conditions would make sense.

Just got an R3 and wondering what you did to make it reliable on track, especially cooling mods?

Not enough, just a koyorad and the vented hood (neither did much)… ducting the front brakes helped a bit for brake life though

@@ap2slowWhat are the peak water temps that you see? I saw 232 this weekend with ambient of 91 and wasn't comfortable going any higher. Average was 220+, and I couldn't even do a full lap without it hitting 230 again.
@ap2slow Жыл бұрын
@@TforTouge sounds about right, it’ll usually hang just under 230 for me unless it’s a hot day. If it’s 95+ F ambient, I can’t do more than a lap. Even at 91 ambient I probably wouldn’t do more than a couple hot laps at a time.

Great Lap! You might be able to carry a bit more speed out of turn2 if you let the car track out a bit more after the entry, should let you get on the throttle earlier and won't slow you down as much. Wicked fast regardless for such a low-power car!

Good job Tyler! You will get that S5 record soon. Biggest areas to work on your T1, T4, and T6. T4 practice staying out wider a hair longer entry and that will carry more speed through it. T6 stay right a little longer and you should be able to commit to throttle all the way through. T1 especially on the 2nd lap you were way too tight at the first “apex” and that cost you.
@ap2slow Жыл бұрын
Thanks Joe!! Definitely going to work on those turns next time, I didn’t even consider that clipping T1 too tight would cost me

What a lap! Did you buy the penskes from Keisler? How do you like them
@ap2slow Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they’re the Keisler Penskes and I love them! They’re amazingly compliant despite running such stiff spring rates, grip and control are fantastic. Only small downside is that it’s a bit of a tight fit in the front around the UCA and sway bar. But they’re my favorite part of the car, highly recommend
