Barry...You probably know this but NOW tonight I found out that Frank S. was an only child, just like you from a very poor rough neighborhood. This is really the things that you have the same and he in the 20th Century, but you will be the Best in the 21st Century and you are still here. Love this lyric. It does apply to the time yo sang it but it is now 2024 and it should be the song for these times too. Love you forever and a day..............................Betsy B

Yeah, I agree, not a bad interview. With that said, it's also obvious that Maher's blind hate with Bush and Republicans in general, doesn't change. Of course, a nonpartisan person should be able to easily see that both parties are the problem.

Barry... I watch you and Jay Leno every night. It is a great interview and a laugh so hard when the accordion bit comes up. "The Barry Polka Show" ? I can't see that, The other thing in that Frank Sinatra interview is they asked him why we always kept his private life, private, just like you. He didn't like articles in the rags as he said they were not true and it made him mad, but all his close friends were Italian so he thought people should mind their own business. That second song you sang was really terrific. The lyric was very suitable for the that year and also of course no in 2024. Of course the other thing was he insisted that any show or concert, if it was after 6pm, the men needed to be in a tux, a black suit or if absolutely necessary a navy blue suit, but he really did not want that. I am singing your song right now, but Barry, Frank really thought you were a young marvelous singer, writer and performer. Love, Betsy B.

It’s interesting to see that during the testing, Pacino doesn’t strike me as particularly impressive, yet in the movie there’s absolutely nobody who could’ve done it better. He IS Michael Corleone…

Robert Rodriguez: “You had a reputation as a McCartney basher.” Philip Norman: “I did. And I was wrong. I was in the wrong. As I say in this book, I was not fair to him in 'Shout!' … They (John and Paul) are inseparable in their importance to the Beatles.” Philip Norman interview with Robert Rodriguez; Something About the Beatles, 2016. In the introduction to 'Paul McCartney: The Life' (2016), Norman issues a mea culpa, acknowledging his bias and explaining its origins in his own feelings of envy, projection and betrayal: “If I’m honest, all those years I’d spent wanting to be him had left me feeling in some obscure way that I needed to get my own back.” (I stole this text/analysis from Erin Torkelson Weber's blog 'The Historian and The Beatles'.)

I was interested to learn that about 5 years before Godfather 1, i.e. in 1967, Pacino got paid $125 a week for acting in a stage production. The point was that it was peanuts compared to what he would later earn. True, but nevertheless $125 then is the equivalent of about $1150 now. I'm not from America, but isn't $1150 a reasonably good weekly income there ?

Barry.....I watched in interview with Frank Sinatra and believe it or not another connection between the two of you. You told Ellen in an interview that you had really skinny legs, well in this interview Frank told the person his legs were really skinny to and he only bought suits off the rack, a 38 regular and if the pants touched his shoes he returned it. Now I have noticed that his pants are always above his shoes and his tuxes were never by a designer. He was like you in that he was down to earth just like you are. Barry...I love the 2nd song you sing here with Jay. The lyrics do match the would today, but you sang this only 10 years ago and even now, in 2024, the lyric is still very appropriate. Love you always and forever, Barry ! You have been so helpful to me in all the horrible things I have had to go thru. Barry, ....................Please take care of yourself. We are not young anymore. I am only 3 years younger than you.....Betsy B.
