Pretentious and supremely overrated. The avant-garde is the refuge of the talentless.

Just the narrow minded priggish comment, I'd expect from someone on youtube wearing a tie in his avatar. Go listen to Brahms there's a good fellow, and stay away from water that's too deep for you.

So good to see this. For me he was one of the three wonderful British painters that we've lost in recent years, the other two being Alan Davie and Gillian Ayres. Many thanks.

This is amazing. I’m glad I discovered John Hoyland and he work. I watched the doc of him and I decided to view your channel and this is awesome. I’m teaching myself how to do abstract painting. But what do you use? It looks like regular paint cans. Do you use acrylics as well? Keep up the amazing work?

Thank you so much for uploading this fabulous film about John Hoyland! He is truly a great master of 20th century British Painting. Where can I get access to The Culture Show, BBC2, Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2009. It contains footages of Hoyland along with Andrew Graham Dickson , I have only seen snippets of it through the 2012 Summer Exhibition Culture Show .

@@abstract_steve101 Really , well it must of been youtube . I know youtube do block peoples comments without informing the commenter . They use logarithms but my comment didn't use any words that i haven't used before . I said checkout CJ Bjerknes site jewishracism.blogspot.com which i have said many times before without being blocked . I suggest you take a look at Bjerknes research it is extremely interesting and joins up a lot of dots concerning the subversive Zionist Jews .
