Hi! Sorry for the late reply. This was our first apartment in HK so it was a while ago! I believe it was around $16,000 HKD a month. Good luck with your move! - Laurence

Hi, sorry for the late reply! Our employer sorted out the visas which were pretty basic 1 year employment visas. I’m not sure if that is any help to you as I don’t really know much more about it! - Laurence.

My partner and I are also planning to move from the UK to Hong Kong as we want to life a completely different and contrasting lifestyle! Albeit we're both Chinese, being born and raised in the UK we are prepared to face some culture shocks and needing time to adjust, thank you so much for sharing such valuable insight!! x

suggest google hong kong's history. u ll get to know more where queue comes from and some historical sites. dont forget macau to explore when it opens up, very convenient.

Well. If you can get those candies by the street, the price is usually very reasonable. Say 10-15 dollars for 10 pieces.

People hang out at IKEA here in the US too. Perhaps other people are shopping and some family members are not interested, so they just chill until the others are done.

Wet markets are not scary as such but to communicate with the locals may be a little tricky. I'm a BBC (British born Chinese) - Cannot read a word of Chinese so that's challenging, but if you know what you want and can say the basics i.e how much you want/of what, you'll be fine. Works out so much cheaper than the supermarkets - especially if you go after a certain time i.e 4-5pm they reduce the veggies.
