it was a great concert. sorry that colours are not too good, but this was taken on an older video camera; hence a smaller screen in much lower pixels than my current Canon video camera. The Electric Palace had to shut down due to needing major work to be done to roofing and now some flooring has to be repaired. We do not know when they will make more jazz concerts at this time. If you wish to look at my user name on KZbin there are more videos # see user tradjazzer # thank you for your inquiry, have a good weekend, regards, John

hello Roger, thank you for kind comment. As I mention on the details the videos I made at the earlier years used a Sonyhi8 tape recorder and were not in HD, as I had kept the tapes and found a service that could convert tapes to be able to run on KZbin. Nowadays I have a Canon 1920 x 102 full HD video camera. However the Electric Palace Cinema is under reservation with buildingg work and it is 102 years old and NO jazz concerts will be arranged this year ( 2018 ) and no date for completion of the Electric Palace to some time maybe about end of next year.

glad you liked the band. this video is from an older camera. new ones are in full HD. by the way The Bramford British Legion Club has not had any jazz sessions since last year (2017), still none in 2018 that I am aware of. Pity.

well, the camera I used was not in HD 1920 x 1080 format, but I have a new full HD camera. also, I can not improve the lighting in a small club, which can give a slightly blurring condition. you are welcome to look at my recent videos taking last year. The best concert was Sammy Rimington international band at Electric Palace Cinema in Harwich. Essex. thanks for your comment.

thank you very much. there are renovations being done to Electric Palace Cinema as it is the oldest cinema in Britain, which has been in use for 101 years and so there will be no jazz concerts here till late 2018.

thank you very much for comments. I do usually make a few videos at the 101 year old Electric Palace Cinema. however due to restoration repairs in 2018 there will not be any jazz concerts until work is finished,

well I think I may have just copied the old program without checking the band; sory, but it was done with an old Sony camcorder on tape. bur got it converted by a program ( sorry can not remember name, it takes VHS tapes or minitapes and then you can put it on computer. Nowadays I use a Canon Full HD camcorder

I used to see and sit in with George 's New Era Jazz Band, starting in the early 60's......when he had John Arthy in the band before John formed the Pasadena Roof Orch. Wonderful line up in that band. Still have the New Era sticker on one of my sax cases. A great band, rooted in the Morton/Dodds tradition. Elm Park Hotel, Ship Aground Walthamstow were regular venues. George was a good mentor..with advice on presentation and solo structure that served me well. Cheers George, great to see you are still going strong.

thanks for info. I have seen Pasadena Roof Orchestra in Clacton, about a year ago. I was not allowed to video the gig but had permission to take photos. It seem that most bands appearing at big theatres of other large halls, etc do not allow any video making. If you look at my other recordings at Electric Palace Cinema I am able to make videos and for last year I have used a Canon HFR506 full 1920 x 1080 HD. glad you liked George Tidiman videos

@tradjazzer7 жыл бұрын
Hello Henk, thank you for enquiry. This band is # Andrew Houston' s Vintage Jazz Band - recorded at Bramford British Legion Hall on 8 June 2017 # personnel # Andrew Houston ( sousaphone -leader ) # Bill Finch (drums ) Les Handscombe ( trombone ) # Tony Teal ( reeds ) # John Whitehead ( trumpet ) # John Cherry ( banjo ) there are all the clips now on my page, as I had problems loading cips onto KZbin. I have edited and added info, hope you like them, best wishes

you are welcome and thanks for the comment. also I do think they are one of the best bands I have seen at Electric Palace cinema. They used to have monthly jazz concert but are resoring and repairing the 100 year old church. 2 others of my best bands are Sammy Rimington's bands and Brian Carrick's bands, at this time Brian is suffering from a severe illness and he is at home near Newcastle , Both of those artists have free citizenship in New Orleans, I am not sure of the exact title. you can find clips of their bands on my user code # tradjazzer # which has had total views of 32200 for all the bands I have videoed

It looks to me that there's more than 4 people in this band.
@tradjazzer8 жыл бұрын
YES, I made a mistake when I summarised the band members. I did have a second page of the band profile. Although there were about 2 hours in total played, so also playing were # Trummy Young ( clarinet ) # Graham Hughes ( Sousa and trombone ) # Sean Moyses ( guitar ) What I generally do is look at artists that are easily seen or heard and then list them only, sorry for my error. when I get time I may adjust the descriptions. By the way the latest concert was on 15 September 2016 and in this concert I found some problems with software used, because previous firm program stopped working on my computer, as I had a different new camcorder and what happened was that all the clips got merged into 59 minutes.
@melvillecox90078 жыл бұрын
Well done you, for responding. I think you meant to say Trummy Mayhew on trombone. I think the other one is dead. Cheers.
@tradjazzer8 жыл бұрын
SORRY, Trummy Young only plays trombone and he does so on latest concert on 15 September 2016. this video is just one set of band, as I had some bother with software and the program made all clips into one set, about 59 minutes; so I could not split tunes and names, so just one long set, have a good weekend, take care then Melville. regards from me ( John )

Thank you Osvaldo, well in those days I had a Sony camcorder that used 8 mm video tape. Until recent times I could not place the video on KZbin; but I bought a software box that took original format tape video and makes the clip into an MP4 video that works on KZbin. I transferred a few tapes then the camera stopped working; so this was my best efforts, cheers.

+Christian Veille . Hello, I can not remember the French that I learned when I was at school 58 years ago; so I am not sure what your text means in English, please forgive my lack of French language. I can say one phrase which is used in New Orleans, it is ## laissez les bons temps rouler # I took my son to the French Quarter Jazz festival in 2009. He can play drums but is dyslexic and can NOT read or write any words.
