I have a Fender Blues Duplex and it is a great amp. Good clean sounds and a very useable crunch sound. Plenty loud for most smaller gigs and larger ones the map is miced. Great for funk, pop, blues etc. It has an effects loop and very useable reverb.

Especially appreciate how you get right into it. Really bugs me when a 'reviewer' gets caught up in their own trip and doesn't focus on why we tuned in. Great sounds btw 👍

It's mostly the speaker is tinny. Throw an eminence texas heat or swamp thang in it and the tinny ice pick will be dampened. Then can still push the treble knob up if needed.

I know this video is old, but god damn I just got one and they are now $1000! All because of this fake ass inflation. Rant aside, I love the Fender Blues Deluxe!

This guy could’ve been one of the biggest guitar gear reviewers on KZbin had he stuck with it. I remember watching this over 10 years ago and thinking how great he was on camera.

I have a 93 Fender Blues Deville in the UK modded slightly from a reputable LA supplier which tidies up the wiring and input sockets etc. Nobody I meet says anything other than it is a great amp, takes pedals well and it likes Strats and Teles. Looks very tatty but what a vibe And it is also great at any volume. Also try plugging a Big Muff start in the Return socket - bliss!!

Thank's for the Vid. I have one and did'nt like the sound but then learnex that by lowering the bias on the trim pot and replacing the speaker with an Alnico Jensen made it sound much more like a Fender amp should.

Thanks so much for this video Scott. You really should go back to doing these types of videos. Maybe a series just on how to dial in and use an AC30 would be great. Many people like myself use this and the other video when we are trying to remember the typical “Vox” sound. Finally, you are a seriously talented guitarist and maybe you should a series on the blues and funk!!

I recently compared this and the hot rod deville iv. There was absaloutley no competition, the blues deluxe (for me) blew it out of the park! Couldnt have sounded warmer, more open (like it was breathin) whereas the hrd was very tight and thick. I really love the amp and slightly disagree with the vid, however its about personal preference so you do u man! Grrat playin!! 😁

although and AC 30 through a tubescreamer is an awesome sound. I think treble booster pedals (analogman beeno boost or BSM) sound just as good or better.

Can I ask where you had the tone knob turned at 4:30 where you said you liked it a little darker (so I assume you turned it down, but how much)?

I just got a TS-9 and TS-808. When I hook it up with my Line 6 Spider II (digital modeling amp), it sounds too thin with the screamer on -- it takes away the bass, roundness, and quintessential strat "quack". Is this normal? Could it just be that it's not really compatible with that amp, and would likely sound better with another?

Just bought a used JamMan, no manual, plugged in my EJ strat same color with a Keeley modded screamer through my princeton chorus amp, then i crack a beer and search KZbin and this dude comes up first. What a joy. Explained it well enough to get me rollin, thanks man. P.s. this is the kind of dude you want as your neighbor.

@donarmando9164 жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely a blues amp as to be expected but if i want it harder i just step on my pedal and i'm getting a nice distortion or overdrive tone. Not a Marshall ofcourse but good for ZZ Top kind of stuff and that's enough for me. I like most the clean tone of this amp.
@gregflorko84024 жыл бұрын
Thanks. This was helpful. I got one of these used, no owner's manual and have been struggling with figuring it out. Yours is one of the better videos on KZbin. Only one suggestion though: A few close ups of the controls as you explain what you're doing would be more informative. I like your playing and equipment choice.
