Con questo brano centinaia di principianti abbiamo iniziato la base dei primi passi di boogie woogie, come dimenticare un brano così bellissimo che mi viene di iniziare di nuovo, meraviglioso il ballo e questo brano.

Alma Cogan's great version of this Burton Lane/Frank Loesser song.

The pivot you taught was the release pivot, not the basic pivot. The basic pivot requires you to put the female back from where she started from.

I'm not sure but I think it was The Freddy Cole quartet. Do Wikipedia on Freddy, lots of great information

That is a cute, fun line dance, but it absolutely is not “The Continental Walk”. I don’t think you could do that dance to the actual Continental Walk song & music. It was a standard at Cotillion in the 60’s.
@BallroomDanceBuff3 жыл бұрын
Never claimed that this was The Continental Walk! This is The Continental line dance that we have been doing at the beach in NC and SC since 60's if not earlier. Sorry if you misunderstood

@@jonmorgan6300 Right Now, All Of Me. These are a couple of my favorites as well. If you'd like, I'll try to send you a few Ballroom Jazz/Standards as I run across them. I love jazz/standards that can be played in a shag club.

Is that a country style continental? 🤔This doesn’t seem very familiar to the simple line dance we did to soul music in 70’s.

It's the only version that I have ever known. Our beach club deejay says the same. Can't offer much more. Sorry

This was written & arranged by Chicago pianist Matt Alagna who played for Ralph. Matt did lots of playing and arranging for Mercury Records in the early 50's. A bunch of the guys on this record played with my wedding bands 10 and 20 years later and I never realized how special all these great records (and musicians) were until I got older.

I certainly hope that our video is of help. Just remember, the pivot is just a basic split between 1&2 and 3&4 with the back spot inserted in the middle. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to try and help. just drop me a message or find me on Facebook Bubba Carl Williams

I really want to learn this dance, but for me, this is not a very good instruction video. I need to view the backs of people teaching the dance steps so that I can mimic the moves correctly. Is there another video showing this with slower dance moves and the dance steps explained that I can watch and learn from?
