Do the tyres get subjected to higher wear? I assume the brake pads will.
@EverattiАй бұрын
Tires only get worn more if you put more miles on the bike than normal. Otherwise I’ve found it’s the same. Brake pads on the other hand.. they go way faster than a normal bike because of the added weight.

I still get good gas mileage, but gas has gone up to 5.01 a gallon here. Plus the weetawds in Salem just banned all gasoline car sales starting in 2030. Gas on the gulf coast is about 3 bucks a gallon. Canada has oil tho.

Thanks man i appreciate it. It was pretty organized, but theres still a few things i wish builders would do on cam... like break the chain and line the sprocket... but ty, this is the most detailed one i can find. I wish someone would make a clear step by step tutorial though.

Use a 16:1 at first on a new engine for the sake of the wear in period (it gives that extra lubrication for the new parts shaving off metal fragments during the first couple hours of operation.). I run 32:1 in mine after break-in period, it works perfectly 😁

what is the size of spark plug tool? 16-18mm or 18-21mm?
@Everatti3 ай бұрын
It’s going to be closer to 18-21mm. I use imperial measurements, so for me, from what I can remember off of the top of my head, it’s a 13/16” or 3/4”.

You didn't talk about any mounting tricks even though you did something less than standard. Maybe it's a good thing for a part 2. Mounting shenanegans.
@Everatti4 ай бұрын
You’re right - I didn’t. Check out the comments. I’m sure someone’s added some input! I always add a piece of inner tube between the engine and the frame to protect it from vibrations. Other than that it’s up to you how you mount it - there’s really only two ways to do it. With or without the U bolt adapter.

I've ran used motor oil for 4,000 miles in my 66cc kit (Since new about 5 year ago) Around the 3,000 mile mark the spark plug gap started closing up. I found the wrist pin and wrist pin bearing were worn. I replaced the top end (with original cyclinder that I sanded by hand to break the glaze) and it's been fine since. I run a thicker mix, probably 32:1, but I'm not even scientific about it anymore. I'd bet I saved enough on oil to buy another 66cc kit. Never even fouled a spark plug.

YOU NEED A CHAIN GUARD!!!!! If you dont wanna make the stock one qoek gwt a different one. I knew someone who died because his chain snapped and cut his leg, he bled out before paramedics could get to him. Use a chain guard or dont do this at all your life is more important than this.

An easy way to keep the engine from turning over is a few feet of small rope in the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Remember to leave a little hanging out. Old mechanics trick
