You wouldn’t even have been able to see the difference in the hippos, that area would just be all one color.

As a child I had good vision but i remember very clearly the day i suddenly lost my vision. I was with my grandparents going home and my grandfather would let me sit on his lap and "steer" because i loved driving, (growing up on a ranch you learn to drive tactors and trucks early on) but oneday i kept hitting rocks and potholes and asked me why i didnt see that and i said i dont know i cant see anymore. So my mom took me to the eye Dr and my vision was suddenly -11.5. I was 6 or 7 and since that day its been the same fluctuating up and down but now as a 30 yr old its a steady -8.50. What i recently noticed since i usually wear contacts is that whenever i take my contacts off everything is quite blurry ofcourse and i only see big dots of color and within those colors i see these strange floating dots. It honestly looks like the videos of sound frequency on water and I wonder if anyone else sees this and i also wonder what it is that im seeing. Very interesting imo, hate that im practically blind but being able to see the world in a way that not a lot of people can is also kindof cool.
