Hi Tom. I used to play with Peter Sprague when I was a young fella. I used to go to see you down at a restaurant in Solans Beach with Pete, Kei Akagi and John Leftwich. That was a healthy part of my music education. I used to think I did a mean James Mason impersonation until I met you. Then I rethought my young life. Been a fan since I saw Wayne Shorter in 86. I was thinking of you when I remembered Max Bennett today. We played a couple shows, I got to know him a little. We got to talking about cars ( he had a charished AMG Merc from the early 90s that just burned up the road) and we got to talking about drummers, the ones he liked and wasn’t so fond of. He said “ya gotta play with Tom. Aah he really make ya feel good. Hea the deal. He’s a bass players drummer.” Miss Max. Good to see you here. Btw, if you ever find you’re in Ireland on a gig and you’ve a little time I’d like to buy you a pint. I only met you a couple times, once when you were out with the Blue Line in Germany. I was with AJ Croce back then. Still it would be nice to see ya play.

I listened to you live in Italy with Otmaro and Caron two years ago. I'm a bass player, but my attention was mesmerized by your playing. Solid and full of nuances at the same time, with a great tone and top class polyrhytmic solutions. I knew some of your collaborations on record, but your live exibithion was really stunning.

Tom--I've told you this before (in a KZbin comment)...man, you BURN. I've seen you live back in the 90's in L.A. and you bring the passion and the fire EVERY time. Every. Freaking. Time. I love that about you!! I've seen world famous "virtuosos" phone in performances. Not you, brother. Never! I wish I had the time these days to take enough lessons from you to do me any good, but alas, my ambitious days are in the past. I play for fun and post a vid on my channel now and then. Maybe in the future. I can always hope. Anyway, just a loving note from a longtime fan. Sorry I can't hire you :-( would if I could.
