Bring back this line gerber. I was handed down a gerber pixie from my grandfather, its dressed and clean many animals and is in fine shape. Great knives

The majority of people never learned to appreciate high quality cutlery any more. The knife used to be the earliest tools humans used and remained a necessity over millennia. Only the industrial society allowed us to overcome the intensive daily use of cutlery. Hence many people only own very poor quality knifes.

You Americans may not know the Bundeswehr pilot knife, which is derived from the PWH / Automesser and still made to military specs tl.baainbw.de/AG-Bund/TL/Daten/73400010.pdf. It's also available for public. DuckDuckgo "Hirschkrone Pilotenmesser". The shape of the blade is a little different, but it is a 6 mm full tang blade, which makes it even more rugged.

I have around 200 older Gerber and around 10 Murphy knives. Two of which are Combat and Combat Jr.

How may I find out the value of a DACOR, Solingen Germany, Stainless,Hand Forged. Blade has 1 2 3 4 5, Sheath made in Italy

Have had mine since 1986. Other than paint wear, it is perfect today, with many many hours of hard use. Sharpens easily and retains a fine edge. An excellent choice, competent but barely noticeable in the pocket.

Linder made any wehrmacht dagger or sword?

I just got a set of Gerber legendary blades has a sharpner, long straight knife and a 2 prong fork. Box has red lining, a sticker with 120 on it and there is a copper plate that still has paper cover on it. can someone help me with info about this set?

Great knife. I purchased one several years ago. The craftsmanship is impressive. To me it is a functional work of art. Similar to a fine shotgun or well made fly rod.

I have one of the stainless versions of this knife i bought quite a few years ago (5 +) and another one i just purchased. The new one came with a black and white cardboard insert in the vinyl sleeve whereas the older one had a color (mostly Green) insert with it. I notice quite a few differences in craftsmanship between the two knives and can tell they are slipping a bit with the quality control. The older knifes blade is better, sharper, the grind lines are perfect and even on both sides. The new one almost has a wave to the edge of the blade like it was ground by someone with shaky hands. Not to mention the blade shape is off slightly . The old blade is nice and straight and the contour/shape of it is smooth with no variation. The new one (purchased 2020) is almost “wavy” as i mentioned. Like the die that cut the blank was old or worn... May be why the grind is off as well. The new lock back is not flush with the handle like the older one. Almost like it was machined slightly off center. It wont go down all the way when the blade is in the “open” position. The stamp on the older one is also a bit less pronounced and looks more “vintage” if thats a thing. The new one looks almost too deep and cartoonish. Also the finish of the blade itself is not as good on the newer version. The older one looks smoother with less tool marks visible. I’m almost thinking about making a comparison video for my youtube channel since I think this is definitely something to show. Maybe I’ll purchase the carbon steel version just so i can do a thorough comparison.. see if there is difference on that version as well.... anyone else see anything like I’m describing?

You said the linder company didn't get materials for war production, but linder did make Hitler youth knifes, ok they are not a war product but still for the Reich. I have a linder original Bowie, it's an amazing knife made from the very best materials , the craftsmanship is outstanding

this could have been an interesting vid but....but, it was very boring...not enough of the knives actually being made... get a professional company in to re-film it ...who made the vid? was it an 'in-house' collection of bods' (to save money perhaps??). marks out of ten for production/presentation: 5 out of 10 Max.
