There are three reasons why people buy a car: 1: to get around. 2: to show off their ego. 3: because they love cars. Every car purchase is a balance of these three reasons, but too many people pretend to be squarely in the third group while in reality they're in the 2nd. This is why Miata drivers are so memed on, because nobody drives a tiny convertible for their ego, it's just pure car love.
