I don’t see this as God’s endorsement of Donald Trump. It was an endorsement of the Grace of God. To have a leader assassinated is a shameful thing for any nation, but especially a nation that claims to be just and good.

When people blame God for all evil things or miss fortunes they forget that the devil pulls the strings of evil action smh. God created light and the darkness exists because their is not light. Scientist research light and not the darkness and the head not the cold. They know cold exists because their is lack of heat and dark because they is no light. If they had the light in them their wouldn't be any darkness. I feel that when I'm struggling the most is when I need God the most it's when I pray to God the most. You don't need to worry because God won't let you down.

You do know that during WWII, Hitler survived an assassination attempt when his staff planted a briefcase bomb under the table. However, while he was seriously injured, he survived. Did 'God' spare his life, too? So NO 'God' did not spare the Donald's life. No more that two people leave for work, drive the same highway, there is a fatal wreck, one dies, the other lives. Did 'God" spare the one and turn His eye to the other? That is just life sometimes. A tree falls, kills one person, another tree falls, no one is injured. Some people miss their flight and that flight unfortunately crashes and everyone on board dies. Did 'God' cause the person to miss the flight so that He could spare the lives but sorry for everyone else who died? Is 'God" a one-on-one personal 'God'? Absolutely! But sometimes, it is not 'God' at all that something happens or doesn't happen. This is one of those things.

The Bible does say One of the most important thing is that we shall not have any other Gods, only the one and true living God Yahweh, It also says Love one another as Brothers sisters, Love your Neighbor, Love one another as I have Loved you. Because the Flesh is weak and we are born sinners Jesus was the answer for that problem other wise we would die the eternal Death. Jesus Christ sacrifice is our salvation, his crucifixion and his spilt blood is as ransom for our freedom. Jesus gave his Life so that we would be saved and have a chance for eternal life. We belong to Christ Jesus. Through Jesus we are saved. Doesn't mean we can do whatever we want living a sinful life, we will all have to answer for how we lived our lives. Are works are our actions have we been Kind and Loving as God is, as much as how Jesus loves us. Most importantly you must have a relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ. You must build a relationship with God to get closer to him and he get closer to you. This is done by reading the Bible! This is why the Bible was made. The Bible is the living word of God. It will tell you everything you need to know about God, about Jesus. What we need to do to have eternal life. It will bring you closer to the father. It will protect you from being deceived , mislead . If you dont know the word of God , you are in great danger of attending the wrong Church, worshipping in a way that is not according to Gods Laws. If you are mislead there will be no excuses. I didnt know ? Won't cut it. This why the Bible was made. God has provided the Bible for everyone to read, he has ensured that the Bible is accessible to everyone. You must read the Bible! It will answer all your questions. There is only one Judge, if we judge others , point fingers not looking at your own faults you will be Judged as you have. God knows whats in our Hearts and he knows we are not perfect. He hasn't given us anything that is impossible to do to live righteously. Our free will basically be the determination of whether or not we enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Part of The Purpose Jesus Christ came to this world was to die so that we be free from the Devils grasp. Jesus also lived according to scripture , he lived for God the Father! He lifted up God in all things. How he lived, how he healed people, when he raised the dead. The time he spent in Prayer. He placed God above and Before all things. Jesus was love, he loved us and He loved the father so much he willing gave his life because God asked him to. God loves us that much that he asked Jesus sacrifice.

Great Podcast! My family and I are new to Meadowview, we have been visiting for the last 3-4 weeks. I happened to stumbled upon this podcast from visiting your website. This is my very first time visiting a Reformed/Presbyterian Church. I was raised pentecostal but for the pass 3 years I have been studying Reformed Theology and it is like the lord opened up my eyes to so much knowledge and understanding of him. It has been a great blessing! There are still some hurdles the Lord is working on but I absolutely love the focus on Theology. The church has been extremely welcoming to my family and I and I am planning on joining a life group soon. GOD BLESS!

I was able to get through the anti-Catholic ignorance e pedaled because he’s a pretty good preacher and I being a Celt sort of appreciate his roots. I was able to get past his willingness to form a kind of alliance of sorts with sinners because Christians (yes the Catholic Christians too) need to be open to all sinners - who want to repent - but, then he did something that truly stinks. He, in his European aloof, narcissistic ignorance with in addition to that the Baptist Catholic battery which we so often have to get by in itself, he claimed Americans lack the depth to understand nuance such as what Europeans have the capacity for. I thought, “Did that arrogant Scottish Baptist foolatard just say that”? So I attended him again and sure enough he did. That was the last time I listened to him. I forgive him, I even pray for him but, this Catholic - yes, we’re Christians - doesn’t give him the time f day anymore. Have a good life, Mr. Begg.

It is very frustrating to me that Alistair Begg's peers are silent in calling him out, because we all know what Bible says about these things. But isn't Alistair Begg in sin for: 1. Giving this advice unrepentantly, 2. Doubling down on it and rebuking naysayers as 'fundamentalist pharisees'? And 3. In Beggs first response potentially twisting Scripture to justify his actions. I'm surprised these questions have not been posed by those who have responded from the pulpit....

I didn't hear this originally, only from your posted video, but it seemed to me that Begg was struggling with the answer. He wasn't talking to a casual acquaintance, but the GRANDMOTHER. Once you become Grandparents, its an amazing relationship. You don't think you could possibly love anyone more than your children, and then the grandchildren come along, and WOW, your love for them goes deeper still. Would Jesus have gone to such a wedding? I'm not sure any of us can answer that for sure. I can probably be fairly certain that John the Baptist wouldn't have. But, Jesus definitely mingled with a different crowd...so...who knows?

You're right about John the Baptist...he was beheaded for calling out a sinful wedding far less egregious than what we're talking about. Yes the relationship makes it complicated, and that's why I'm sympathetic to the plight. the issue is not in struggling with the decision, the issue we took was in the rationale of not wanting to appear judgmental. I don't believe there ever was a grandmother, a grandson or granddaughter, a gay or trans wedding or a gifted Bible. The whole thing -- the original story and its defense -- and Begg's framing convinces me it is a fabricated narrative to advance a position he had already committed to.

I'm not comfortable accusing him of that. I do know as a pastor of a much smaller church and reach and in small time USA and I'm dealing with this. His logic is flawed...and I think Pastors do this often, out of hearts for the struggle of people, they compromise, then try to rationalize...and the rationalization doens't meet the issue. Understanding the struggle of the "grandmother" is one thing...that has nothing to do with appearances of being judgmental... that's a separate thing. Thanks!

Please review your comments at 30:00 minutes into the program. It sounded like it was sinful for a Christian to affirm and celebrate a gay “wedding” celebration, but if you’re a parent of the “bride” or “groom” then you have a slightly different view. Is it a sin to go, or not. Especially the way you framed the issue in the ensuing minutes, I think that you created confusion.

So Jesus would be at the wedding of homosexuals? A marriage according to Father God is clearly defined for us. My child deciding to live that lifestyle that God calls sin, I can't bless. It hurts terrible to not be able to attend their wedding. But that does not mean I can't invite them to a family dinner. Saying grace before the meal. Loving the sinner, but hating the sin comes from a broken heart for the sinner.

@@heidibrown997 Jesus shocked and disgusted the religious leaders of His day because He chose to dine with prostitutes and tax collectors. The leaders' disgust and disdain did not dissuade Him. When the sinners heard Jesus speak, they knew exactly where He stood in relation to their lifestyles. Similarly, Pastor Begg focused his comment on the same point: The homosexual couple knew where the relative stood in relation to the validity and propriety of their union. In that context, and only in that context, her attendance at the ceremony was appropriate, mixing her judgment against their union, which she had made clear, and love and concern toward the sinners in a way that God could use to display His character.

@@etdunnthank u for your thoughtful reply. God knows the heart and will help Allistair to work through this.. If i stay away from my cousins homosexual wedding , because my heart is broken for the sin being sanctified by marriage vows, God knows that too. Eating with sinners is what we do all the time. That misses the issue. I lived with an husband who hated my life in Christ, was violently opposed for many years. In those years I learned finally to die to self and grow in faith. Nothing else could have drawn me so close to God. I saw his need so great and no longer suffered selfishly, but grieved for him. I slept and ate with him every day. He wanted to live with me. I don't mind saying some times I wished he leave. God would not let me leave. He had a plan for us. It is wonderful to see what God is doing in him now. For years, Andy regularly met with groups of homosexual men. He asked them if he should include diagrams in his book on dating and said they told him no because they are comfortable inserting male-male for boy-girl, etc. I mention this bc it seems that for years he has affirmed the lifestyle and once it became "legal" to marry he began advising men to "get married." He doesn't believe the Bible requires followers of Christ to live Biblically which is the reason he referenced "biblical marriage." Yes, Andy has publicly equated homosexuality with a disability. Sadly, Andy doesn't trust God to deliver and empower unmarried people to live holy and set apart.
