If we will put varnish then is it safe ❤❤🎉😊😅 And can we pit big sugar CRYSTALS
@Randomona

There is still a chance that it will get mouldy if stored in a humid place - I think even with varnish 😕 Yes, bigger sugar crystals would be great ☺️

To be honest, I'm not sure - I think corn flour is something different in every country.. But even normal flour works, cornstarch just gives a smoother texture 😉

One question I hope you have an answer for… how do you keep the paint from easily peeling off? I’ve tried this previously with acrylic paints and after drying it just scraped and scratched off so easily. 😢
@Randomona
@Randomona Күн бұрын
Hmm, I think that can happen when the hot glue underneath is very smooth. In this case, because of the playdough, I think the hot glue has a little more texture, so that helps! I think it also helps to do multiple thin layers of paint instead of one thick layer. Hope that helps?
@JiovanieVelazquez
@JiovanieVelazquez Күн бұрын
@@Randomona That makes sense about the texture. Also nail polish might just have a better grip or "bite" into the glue chemically? I don't know, but thanks! I'll try it! ❤

I would recommend curing it further once removed from the mold, to insure both sides are fully cured. UV resin will always take on the surface of what it's being molded in, in this case the mold is matte ; painting a thin layer of resin on top and recurring it would also work instead of nail polish.
@Randomona
@Randomona 10 күн бұрын
That's a good tip. I did actually try adding more resin with my gloved finger, but it wasn't very neat, so I didn't show it 😉

Love all your videos & your sense of humor. I wonder if there's something else one could use instead of playdough, something that wouldn't need to be washed out afterwards. Even better would be a material that would retain its integrity after contact with the hot glue. (First thought: hot glue! Uh, no . . . ). I wonder if someone who already had a metal seal (stamp) could press it into the hot glue and have it come away clean? I guess you'd need to leave it in the glue until the glue had hardened, in which case the seal would be stuck. But what if one coated the seal in petroleum jelly? Are there substances which prevent hot glue from adhering to surfaces? Wax? Silicone of course . . . .
@LilaHanft
@LilaHanft Ай бұрын
I found an answer to my question about metal seals in another crafter's video: Apparently if the metal seal is ice cold when it touches the wax, it won't become permanently embedded in the glue.
@Randomona
@Randomona Ай бұрын
Thank you! ☺️ I found this video where someone uses polymer clay to make their stamps: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJWroKioa7ikeLMsi=EIMPcKI0jzCjnUte That tip about using ice cold metal is great to know! I think in general, metal stamps work well because there is wax mixed into the hot glue. I have seen people brush wax onto things so that hot glue doesn't stick to them. www.instructables.com/The-Secret-to-a-Perfect-Hot-Glue-Mold/

Which clear polishes? Mine didn’t do that….they clumped especially the ones that said gel like.
@Randomona
@Randomona 2 ай бұрын
Okay, interesting.. Are the nail polishes possibly older ones? Some people say that newer ones work better It could also be the temperature of the water - apparently, it shouldn't be too cold It could also have been too much nail polish I can only suggest trying a different nail polish, it should work with a cheap and basic one
