The new Archicad subscription system will be the death of the software. More expensive than revit and is basically unobtainable to small firm designers. very bad move by graphisoft. It is only going to lead people into using bootleg versions and graphisoft competitors. Go for Volume expansion, get everyone on the platform at a lower price and dominate the market share.

How do we add an editable 3D hotspot to our Param-O object so I can adjust the model in the 3D window? Does that have to be done with GDL after the inital object is created?

This is AMAZING! Can we request a GDL course from Jon? He is right in that GDL has a lot of power to provide and work with within Archicad. The learning curve is immense though.

AC27 UP27.2.0. The problem has returned again on 4K screens with an image scale of more than 100% in Windows 10. The lines in the drawings have blurred and sloppy graphics. The problem has been dragging on for the second year since version 26! Does anyone actually test the update before launch? Or does everything work on Full HD?

STOP THE PRESSES! Graphisoft has officially annouced the phase out for perpetual licenses and moving to subscription. Also "encouraging" users to move to the cloud. WOW! They will surelly do an orgy with our data feeding their AI model... and users will PAY FOR IT! :D We are sooo screwed. :S

Firstly, Nathan you’re doing great mate. I’m always surprised at how polite and concise you are. Secondly Sylwester, I highly recommend you to spend 15 min every day in the community. It’s obvious that you don’t completely get us (architects). It’s ok for now, you’re new. But you need to understand, even if it’s not of your day to day job. Only after you get yourself into our mindset and you see the passion, the dedication and the beauty of it all you will understand how frustrating, how painful and how tiring it is. You are in a position to make real impact and you need to get just how much responsibility you have. I hope to see the interactive roadmap sooner rather than later, because the discrepancy and disconnect will be more evident and I really hope you guys are flexible enough to steer the ship in the right direction. I also hope you guys are militating and asking for the right resources for faster development, there really is a need to be faster in development. Lastly, from my experience productivity features are always more positively viewed and highly adopted compared to trendy stuff like the AI visualizer that don’t really do much, so please consider that in your discussions.

No. He is not new at Graphisoft. He is this position for "almost 2 years". I understand that you are trying to be more "positive" and "Half fll glass"... But A LOT of Archicad users are tired of this "stockholm syndrome" thing that some of us are doing. Lets call things as they are. Man... When you get to know that the Director of Product Management favorite Archicad tool is MORPH!... To 3d print toys for his kid!... I mean something is REEEALY wrong where. Again: This is not a personal matter with Sylwester. The culprit is not him. It is a miscast. The ones to blame are the guy from HR and the CEO. IMO

@eiden193 glad you are enjoying the interviews. I am disappointed that Sylwester’s role at Graphisoft wasn’t clearly explained in my interview with him. His role is focused on the process of delivery of the features. His position doesn’t require him to be knowledgeable 100% about the specific features that go into the software. That role is driven at the higher level by Marton Kiss and by the product management team. I personally believe that bringing in someone from outside of the AEC bubble, to drive the process of software development is the right approach. The challenge being that it takes time to see the difference due to the time it takes to develop features and release it out to the public. He is also involved in initiatives to help deliver better outcomes for users. Once again this is something that will take a little bit of time, as it is something that is happening now behind the scenes, and won’t get seen till new releases are out there. Hope that clarifies a few things for you. Regards Nathan

@@user-dk2xz9yj2wI have just replied to Eidan’s comment regarding the role that Sylwester has within Graphisoft. I hope that clarifies a few things for you. I think bringing in someone to lead development from outside of the AEC space (from much larger organisations) brings new ideas on how features are delivered. Taking note that it is not his role to choose or select the features that are being developed and delivered. Regards Nathan

Geez! A guy from medical backgrond, Google and GE? Really?! That explains a lot... The brilliant legacy of Huw Roberts and Ron Close. No ofence to the guy, but this is Bla Bla Bla... Design Options is a HUUUUGE waist for resources. Visibility Criteria would solve this and much much more. And now they are working on keynotes? Really?! How about Centralized Attribute/Resource Management? And avoid attribute polution nightmare... Anybody there? Meanwhile SSA fees spikes, Lousy unreliable product and Nemetschek increses share dividends for the eleventh consecutive year. God save the shareholder! :D

@@LuisManuelLealDias I don't think so. This is another pile of mess above all the existing visibility options (Layer, Layer Combination, Partial Structure and Renovation). A bandaid to fix a leaked pipe... A centralized tool to allow visibility based on criteria would be infinetly more effective.
@LuisManuelLealDias
@LuisManuelLealDias 2 ай бұрын
@user-dk2xz9yj2w I disagree. Layers don't solve this issue, and renovation layers are just too specific to one important function. We've been using design options very effectively for instance in modules, where can have entire houses in a module with several design options, which will reflect the lots and the small changes required in each lot. Many other cases. And the ease with which you can just delete entire threads of design is really good. I'm sorry, I just disagree with you. It's a good tool.

@@LuisManuelLealDias Silver tape can fix a leaking pipe... Perhaps you can think it is a good tool... Until you have multiple leaks. But when things start getting complex in very large projects with phases and LOD, I bet you will change your mind. But hey! If it makes you happy. ;)

While a centralized attribute management function is really needed, the new features in 27 are very nice. Exploring design options is essential in architecture and having a nice dedicated tool is way better than the previous workarounds with the Renovation tool. Your comment is not in good faith.
