Regarding the "Receiver" feature. First of all, the fact that the "master" knob is called a "receiver" and the "slave" knob is called a "sender" is confusing - seems like they got it backwards. Second, I don't understand why there's this restriction that a "Receiver" knob can only control one "Sender" knob. It seems like one of the most useful things about this would be the ability to make one knob that controls multiple other knobs. Like if I have multiple sections of a song and they each use a different "bass" instrument. Then I could use a single "bass" knob to affect both. But that's not possible here.

You'd be wasting your time, they would all need to be re-written from scratch and given Ableton policy with the Push 3 for external scripts it's unlikely anyone will be taking on a non-starter off a project, best to make your suggestions to Ableton themselves if they open up a beta for the Move and go from there...

Just bought it. Incredible upgrade to the Midimix which was (for me at least) a cheap and fun gimmicky mixer up to now which I never got around to mapping to software synths. Device mode is excellent. Some fiddling with VSTi’s and saving default configurations in Ableton means the controller can take over parameters for instruments without midi mapping. (You are limited to 64 but who needs more than that for any single device/VST). Can’t recommend enough if you own a Midimix. May seem daunting getting used to the new functions but a little bit of time and attention and it becomes intuitive.

Does device mode control parameters on instruments on a track or is it just effects?

It’s the standard blue hand control so controls whatever is in focus.

Will it control parameters that are added manually for an instrument or just the ones that automatically appear in the device configuration when a device is loaded. (If there are more than 64 parameters on a device in Ableton the parameters have to be selected manually so I’m just wondering if the controller picks up on any ones added later)

@Vingul the module doesn't process incoming MIDI. But once you capture a quote of any length, you can time-modulate it with subdivision changes, shorten or lengthen using the "# of notes" box, AND as the chord changes on the Conductor module, you will hear automatic changes in melody to fit the new chord or scale. You can automatically modulate any of those above parameters using the built in LFOs as well
