Those who do not feel regret or guilt are not alive. What remains is a programmed artificial parasite. Not human at all.

Regret and guilt is the natural foundation of The human soul. A built in defensive emotion which ensures the survival of humanity. With out this foundation, mankind would of been extinct long before you came along.

Not according to Nietzsche. That's why he is one of the founders of existentialism. He believed that values were freely created by human beings.

Mr. Human Journey, I'd say in this case, it's more likely the debtor who can't pay back is an idiot :D In the USA at least, we have an epidemic of idiots (could be called "Idiocracy"). Those who are highly educated and experts in their fields are looked down on. Sports figures and other celebrities who act like children for social media are admired. Our incoming president wants to close our Department of Education and why not? He thinks education is unimportant. Despite being very knowledgeable in my job function, I'm not well versed in subjects like philosophy. I welcome your introduction to the thoughts of Nietzsche.

Good morning! Fascinating video as always. I’ve always been a history buff. No book has ever been able to clearly describe the cliff top fortresses or just how rugged the mountains are. The visuals are stunning. One looks at the caves and can’t help but wonder where they got their water from, how they survived the extremes of hot and cold temperatures. I’ve recently learned of the Yakhchal icehouse. A video on the subject would be an intriguing side note. Again, thanks for another fascinating video.

The very simple truth that "I think, therefor YOU are!" proves that Descartes' initial search for 'Universal Truth' had failed. He never crawled from the Pit of duality. Thus the foundation of his and 'western philosophy' fails, thus... Until the update. The critically updated version of the 'Cogito' is; "Thoughts are perceived/appear, therefore an apparent 'I' to think 'I am'!" Thought = Ego! Pit transcended! ;)

Giroft even older than Sumeria. Iran is older than Egypt. Iran formed what is now the ME. Khuzestan was the biggest trading hub, which many surrounding cultures migrated too. This is why Iran is very multi cultural.

Mr. Human Journey, It's been far too long since I've seen any video from you! And this one is definitely a masterpiece. The content is interesting as always, but your production values have gone off the chart. I appreciate all the skilled work with drones and the dramatic enactments to help get the story across. Instead of a Trojan horse, this story seems to be a "Trojan wife". I'm glad Musa didn't succeed for long. I hope to see more from you soon.

Mr. Human Journey, Good to see you again. This is a very interesting video. I'm ashamed of the US actions in 1953. Apparently, democracy is a good thing unless the people who choose it happen to have oil or other valuable resources that the US wants? But the other shameful, hypocritical thing is how the Islamic government in Iran turned on Israel after its military help in the Iran/Iraq war. Nobody's hands are clean in these conflicts. I'm looking forward to your next part.

America is full of competing interests. We have to grade it more fairly. Thanks to liberal values it has done very well for itself so that immigrants like us escape prosecution of systems like Nazism and Islam and communism (none of which were US made) to America. If you want to critique specific US politicians and thinkers be precise and come talk to us at Atheist Republic instead of being a blind self hating American and useful idiot of anti liberal forces.

Interesting. Thanks! I didn't study philosophy so it's helpful to have a concise introduction here. I wonder about Descartes' first two assumptions: 1) There must be a perfect being, God 2) A perfect being can't be a deceiver These two assumptions seem to be faulty or at least not certain. If we consider the "God" in our scriptures, he seems far from perfect. Also, there are many examples of him being deceitful.
@Human_Journey2023
@Human_Journey2023 8 ай бұрын
Thanks. He did not claim that there is a perfect being. He proved it by deductive reasoning (which is not shown in the video). One of the proofs is in Descartes meditation 3. He proves it differently in other sections. Scripture may be interpreted differently. the following is straight from the bible: Psalm 18:30 This God-his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. Regardless, Descartes did not follow the bible, but only his own rational methodology.
