I really like the way you made IoT pervasive and ubiquitous. I have some questions: 1:05 Could you specify the stakeholders who have access to temperature and location data? 1:57 Is the “small standard bluetooth low energy device” a bridge? Are these devices needed in the entire process from farms to stores? Or they are not necessarily needed in some phases? 2:09 Could you give some examples of action that may be triggered? Like changing temperature? 2:58 How do the consumers know the history of the products? Do they, for example, scan a QR code to get the information? 3:33 Are the tags waterproof and heatproof? I also sent you a message via your website portal. Please contact me by email if you want.

I saw one of the uses u are planning to use it for is easy recycling, I'm currently working on a project of automated sorting recycling bins by reading items barcodes I think this would be much easier to use and automate.🤔

so you are telling me a processor who can tell you where an item is moved where and all of that by the power of harvesting radio waves. how can it tell the exact location of an item? Does it have g.p.s? gyroscope? how the hell will it have enough power to pull that off and how the hell would it cost pennies? I'm at a loss here 🤷♂️

Excited for this. I wondering if I can use this tag in a new product where I want to register a special movement nearby ( within 2 or 3 meter) many times for a long time maybe for hours....The results is so going to an apps that the consumer is seeing it. If I can`t use wiliot do you know about a sensor that i can use ....

How far does the bluetooth transmit? The video mentions tracking lost items like passport and socks, but within what distance is williot able to help us locate them?

right now about 2 meter or 6 feet. They say they can get up to 20 meter or 60 feet in. next year or two.

Hi John, We hear you. So far we have been focusing our time on deployment with a small number of large opportunities. You can see a couple of short/limited videos of our product in action: here kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH-vdn-ui7-njZY & here kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXSoeJ-Jja5rh5o - Later this year we will be making some announcements of production deployments with the major accounts that we have been working with in our Early Pilot Program, along with new versions of the product and developer kits that will be available much more widely, so that more people can work with our product hands on.

So if I buy a milk in a shop, the milk will be watching me? And then in a smart treshbin the milk carton could send the recorded data back to producer? I mean the milk could sent information that it was eaten together with product XY including record of entire speech+bluetooth devices in surroundings...
@wiliothq33204 жыл бұрын
Hi Tomas, Thanks for watching and commenting. Adherence to privacy rules is an important part of what it will take for this new technology to be adopted. It's a huge subject, but to answer at a high level, we take it seriously. All Wiliot tags use encryption to communicate, so that there is a single owner who is accountable for managing their responsibilities to conform to GDPR i.e. implementing an opt-in before collecting any Personally Identifiable Information (PII), being open about what information they are collecting, and only collecting what is needed and keeping the data no longer than is essential for the stated purpose. We have been asked to sell tags without this, that broadcast in the clear so that they can be used for tracking and tracing by third parties without consent and refused to do it, not because we are nice, but because it's good business. We recognize that unless Wiliot is used for good, and unless consumers benefit from having connected products, battery-free Bluetooth won't be accepted and used at all. Best regards, Steve

Definitely exciting, but I suspect there are severe limitations. Interested in seeing an end to end demo. 1) Approx how long it takes to harvest enough energy 2) how far the bluetooth transmits 3) Assume it transmits without pairing?
@jessiehazelrigg33714 жыл бұрын
Hi Doug, Thanks for your interest! 1) The duration of time to harvest the needed energy to sense, compute, and transmit, depends on the source of energy and the distance from that source. In optimal conditions, we see tags harvest and transmit in under 1 second. 2) Version 1.0 of Wiliot tags will have a range of 2-3 meters, both for harvesting and transmitting. Although, we have seen transmission reach father. Version 2.0 will have a range of 1-20 meters. 3. Correct, this is Bluetooth Low Energy technology which sends a non-connectable advertising packet to be received by any device with a Bluetooth radio. Hi, does the sensor can recognize movements of products which contain these sensors? And can it recognize the direction of the movements? Thank you
@jessiehazelrigg33714 жыл бұрын
Hello! Our approach to movement sensing is quite unique as it relies on measuring changes in the tag (or product/packaging it’s applied to) environment. It is not a standard movement sensor like an accelerometer, that gives exact orientation/direction information. Our focus has been on “pick up” movement detection thus far, as we have project driving such requirements. Feel free to reach out if you have further questions: [email protected]

Amazing and exciting tech! Need this to release ASAP. IoT is begging for it, having to use small batteries to power RF reed switches, temp/humidity sensors, motion detection, luminescence, presence detection, so many things this would be amazing for. Our smart homes need to go this direction where the tons of sensors need to be self powered.

So how close/far are we to such a system being able to power a Bluetooth 5 chip? The idea of using RF like signal is great but doesn't it crap over WIFI performance?
@degalzt83515 жыл бұрын
For all the ones that don’t believe it, this is real. The technology is know in computing as Harvesrig powered sensors and was conceptualised longer than 10 years ago but was difficult to manufacture and no cost effective. Link does not show the same type of sensor but it can be used as a quick reference for the unbelievers. www.enocean.com/technology/energy-harvesting/
@DiegoSpinola5 жыл бұрын
There's NO way you can achieve that refresh rate shown in this video merely from energy harvesting at 2.4Ghz like it is being promised , this is the iFind kickstarter all over again... You could do it by powering it via directional RFID and then using a BLE Xceiver , but that is NOT what they are claiming....
