I am in the wrong era too. I am 45 and I prefer the Victorian era.

I love those period cartoons from the closing credits... pumps the boat during a storm and gets tattoos from the sailors and marines. Pure fancy. Alas, for the young lad. May he find better days ahead.

I remember that thiscwas broadcasted on Friday on BBC2 when l was nine. This really fot me interested with history. This was showen after one of the series of "I Claudius" had ended. To think the Role of Henry II were played by great actors by the likes of Brian Cox, Patrick Stewart and Peter O' Toole.

Honestly, when you put it like that, old Henry has been REALLY well represented in fiction, hasn't he?

These are well told. I had only seen the earlier black and white productions, which didn't tickle my fancy. These ones from its last years are really engaging.

Thank you for posting. I remember this episode from when it was first broadcast. It has definitely stood the test of time. Authentic costumes and scenery even down to the gas light lighting in the ward.

I love the realistic energy. Too often TV presents Victorians rather like their photographs: rather dour and humourless.

I just realized two of the actors were in "Keeping Up Appearances". The main lady actor was "Daisy" (the ditzy sister), and the red-headed bearded man was "Mr. Bucket" (the husband).

Classic old school comedians. As they say funny is funny. Period...although periods are not particularly funny in of themselves. Bloody funny yes, just funny no. You know what I mean.🤣😂🤣🩸🩸🎤❤❤👏👏👏
