Big fan of the easy-ish open foil packs - weird that pack tech seems to have peaked in '96. Stellar Barry cracks, a common theme recently~!

Man time flys!! I remember buying lots of these packs & 90 score football packs with my paper route money lol! grading cards should cost like 5 bucks! Heck u don't even need a high school diploma to grade cards... & then an upcharge fee...wtf??? gtfoh! that's cr¡m¡nal_AF & now with all these rigged games, & more & more players then ever getting in on it fix too? is kinda getting out of hand to say the least. between that & shills is what ruined the hobby for me. I mean why even have laws against shilling if they're never enforced? thank goodness for karma! sry bout rant man. just sucks what some will do for $ these days. on a good note loved the rip bro!!! keep um coming✌️.

That final pull on the short video is possibly my favorite Bonds card of all time. Before all the pressure and procedures and injections; he looks so happy and healthy. Cheers~!

So true! I'm glad you mentioned Bonds, because he's one of my favorite guys to PC. I would have loved to have seen him in Yankees pinstripes hitting baseballs into that short porch in right field. But those McCovey Cove homers are unforgettable.

Got every super notable card and The Kid parallel. I was hoping to see one of those elusive FX cards, but just for the rarity because there not very attractive cards from the pics I see. And Rod Beck in boxing gloves, because why not? Well worth the fiddy.

The Rod Beck card is awesome! Although it would have been cool to pull a 1:75 FX card, there are a lot of players in the set that I would have been disappointed to pull...it's not the best checklist for such a hard-to-pull set. I would have been 10 times happier with a Silver Jeter or A-Rod. Still a really nice box break and I got lucky that the cards weren't bricked either!

@@jimfree0 I'd have to go check the cards later, but I don't remember feeling like they were thinner than the regular Upper Deck set. I remember them being fairly standard card stock. But now that you mention it, I'd have to compare them to some of my other cards.

You can definitely do that. I don't think this is the kind of set that's going to increase in value over time though. So keep that in mind. If you do open them, just have some fun with it!

I agree that this is a really fun base set. The team trivia cards were great for us kids who wanted to study statistics in the pre-internet days…but today they’re just plastic ninja stars lol.

I had a good time with these. With the smaller series size, there are tons of stars in the set, and no duplicates that I can remember pulling which is refreshing for junk wax.

As a Yankees fan, I would agree. I think 2004 was the last great peak in the rivalry. I’d love to have the rivalry heat back up again. Baseball is always more fun when the rivalries are at their hottest.

Your share is appreciated as always - I just checked ebay and found an ungraded base 89-90 Hoops Jordan for $1, so I'm angry and confused at the a*hole who swindled you...I guess he needed those 2 or 3 bucks more than you did. Luckily for the hobby, there's uniquely good-natured sorts like you to even out the dross~!

Guess so. The PSA 10 Jordan is selling for about $150 on eBay and the Robinson RC is under $100. Honestly it’s not even worth sending to PSA at those prices. I don’t think the risk of a 9 is worth the reward but perhaps these scammers feel otherwise.
