Hey, love the video. The selbu mittens are called like this because of the motif of the selbu rose (not a star). The motif is today a traditional colourwork element of Norwegian knits. ❤

On the Piet sweater you could also sew on the vertical stripes by imitating the stitches in a vertical column.

That's true! Sewing the stitches might be faster than crocheting for someone who isn't a frequent crocheter

Totally agree with your knitting philosophy-- I think we are lucky to live in the age of youtube where there's a video tutorial for basically every knitting technique 😍

Selbuvotter is just the name for that traditional mitten style at this point.

As a fan of colorwork, I enjoyed your episode. Just an FYI for those who don’t own a sewing machine or have a friend with one, some libraries now have sewing machines available to their community members.

Hello! I'll actually be heading to Toronto in about a month for a little trip, where in Canada are you? That is helpful to know about the pronunciation of Aase, I hope you enjoy the project if you wind up knitting it :)

oh no!! I just tried looking it up and checked the designer's instagram and you're right, it looks like she is no longer selling patterns. if you message me on instagram (same username as here) I can share it with you, I feel like that would be fine since it's not available for sale anymore

You could pick off the cast on edge of the neck, remove some length, and then just bind off! It would be a little time consuming but would be doable!

Very curious about the shoulder fit with the wishbone sweater… that’s my only concern.
@JamieSageKnits
@JamieSageKnits Ай бұрын
Yeah I was a bit skeptical too, I don't think it's the most tailored/natural fit but I thought the samples on Ravelry looked decent enough. I just finished mine this week and I will include some shots in my next podcast of me wearing it - for me, the funnel neck is actually a bigger issue. I think overall it was a mistake to knit a size larger, it's just not a design that lends itself to an oversized fit and there is too much fabric in the yoke. But I'm overall very pleased with it and would recommend the pattern (just choosing the size that is closest to your measurements)

I just got gifted the full set of chiagoo needles and yes they are expensive. But they will be the last ones i need because they just don't break. I hav a wooden set by knit pro and everything smaller then 3,5 mm breaks constantly. I probably spent the same amount on repurchasing the broken needles as the chiagoo set costs...

@@limeshin1522 I have heard great things about the chiaogoo needles!! As you mentioned they are pricey so that has made me hesitant but it's a good point it may even out to be the same cost if a cheaper set breaks. I decided to try the knitpicks set because I prefer wooden needles and I liked their color options for 16" wooden interchangeables

Heyyy! I would be super interested in a review video of all the drops yarn, especially the ones you have already used to knit :) especially on how they wear and the itchyness etc (i cannot tolerate the drops mohair :() lots of love :)
@JamieSageKnits
@JamieSageKnits Ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion! I will add that to my list of video ideas for sure. I'm lucky that I'm not too sensitive to itchyness so I don't mind the DROPS mohair but I've definitely heard from others that they find it itchy as well :( DROPS Daisy is really soft in my opinion but I've read that it pills if you use it alone/without mohair.
