I am a talking watch collector and have a talking alarm clock with a similar voice. Just curious: does this watch have the option to change the voice? Also, how does the alarm function?

Ewing totally blind I absolutely hate the descriptive audio cause it is very dicstractig. I am not a T.V. Guy but when I am listening to something I don’t want someone talking over the seen. That is very distracting and I can’t stand it. It is so much better just to listen to the actions and get a feel of what is going on. There is plenty of action rather than having to hear someone talking over everything which is very distracting. It takes away from what you are trying to listen to. And watch.

The problem of blind people not having cars and motorcycles and not being able to travel is the government’s and government workers fault, it is abuse of power and abuse of “authority”.⛪️🇺🇸🛫

This was really informative for me, as a sighted person. Being blind forces you to be more patient, and patience is truly a virtue. It's truly impressive what blind people must do to work around not having vision and using our other senses!

Why can’t you imagine it? Knitting is so incredibly tactile and relies mostly on muscle memory and tactile patterns. It’s one of the easiest hobbies a Blind person can pick up.

It’s really sad but trust me this high quality training does not happen everywhere I was visually impaired during school it was terrible especially in high school I can remember being taken out of a computer class because I couldn’t see it and nobody there knew anything about accessible technology I didn’t have books for a few years because I couldn’t see them I finally got one large print book my last year in high school and I had a science teacher that would enlarge pages for me because0 she felt sorry I didn’t have a book like all the other kids it was absolutely terrible. When I was in my last year of school I actually found out a place called I can’t think of it now sorry but they made paper thanks for the blind so I found out that if I bought the paper they had green lines on it and I used a red marker I could see then I found braille graph paper and when I figured out how to use it my teachers let me and I could finally do graphs with the rest of the class it was really terrible because I couldn’t do anything and I wasn’t taught how to do anything I taught myself some things later on. I wish you would put out videos on like how to use the phone where you can’t see it how to use jaws that kind of thing

This was a wonderful video. Denise is a brilliant speaker and presenter, explaining everything clearly and concisely. She reminds me of a teacher who knows how to command her students’ attention... and keep it throughout.

Hi: As someone who is very familiar with assistive technology, both personally and professionally, and as someone who has a strong background in teaching, this video’s attempts at bringing awareness to the nondisabled population about the importance of making content accessible was decent, yet the presentation was inconsistent. Hannah’s portion was fully engaging, thought-provoking and animated. Hannah involved the audience and spoke clearly and concisely. Even though I already knew the content, I found myself captivated, and it is very clear to me why Hannah is the communications person for the Council. I struggled with Jim’s portion, not because the points made were inaccurate-they were. But he spoke too quickly much of the time with very little inflection, almost mumbling his words, and he failed to consistently pause in between points. Consistent pauses are important because it allows the viewer to process what has been said. Without pauses, everything runs together. Last year, WCBI posted a similar video, though it was live and in person. Once again, Hannah’s portion was engaging and animated while Jim could have been going through the motions of a presentation. I have no doubt that Jim knows his subject; but there is a difference between knowing one’s subject and presenting it well and in a manner that is not only engaging to the audience but also consistent with one’s colleague. When all presenters are fully engaging and consistent, the overall message is much more powerful. One of the things I have found very helpful as a fellow blind individual is either taking public speaking classes or working with a sighted colleague prior to a presentation. I ask for visual feedback in the areas including voice inflection, body posture, and I also work on not standing/being still as I speak. Sighted people naturally gesture and move as they speak; a blind person who has no usable vision does not do this naturally and needs to be shown. It also takes regular practice to feel comfortable being more visually engaging. For future presentations similar to this one, perhaps a rehearsal and some coaching prior to might be considered so that Jim’s portion is qualitatively more on par with Hannah’s.
