I love my Moy mini head. Geared heads are super popular today still. Particularly on dolly movements it’s preferable because it doesn’t have any noticeable bump when the dolly stops and changes direction

Honestly it’s way better to buy a proper Arrihead or Moy geared head. I hate how cheap Proaim makes their stuff.

Very helpful! I'm not doing set electricals, but am studying for a ham radio license and was trying to recall how to figure amps, volts, and wattage for the test. Your W=VA example was perfect and your explanation very clear. Thank you!

Thackrey passed away Memorial Day [May 30] 2022. A Brilliant Man who made wonderful wine. I really hope to see some fascinating and insightful video, to balance the tongue in cheek from Oz and James Big Wine Adventure [S02E07]. Fingers crossed! Cheers!

I find my self scanning KZbin and Internet at large for more information, interviews and articles on Sean Thackrey. If this project has stalled maybe you should start a crowdfunding to get the money you need to finish it. I would pitch in for sure. If not, maybe some of the material could be released raw. I (and I think a lot of others) would really like to see it.

If you are going to spend $2000 on a geared head, you can at least spend $50 on a better mic so we can hear you.

Hello Michael, i am Urias from Brazil, and i have the nex fs700r, and i cannot record in 4k, because the video output from the camera is not giving me the option for 4k, i am using a video assist from blackmagic 5 ", using sdi to capture a 4k, so the camera isn't giving me this 4k video output, if you can help me.

Morrison said it, "The futures uncertain and the end is always near."... Always be prepared, you never know what the future will bring you ... enjoy the moment, and if you find your passion in life, you have been blessed by the universe. Kudos, Mr. Walsh and good luck on this next chapter in your life.

If I wanted to make a fill light on the other side of the face to decrease those shadows, given that the kino will be about 9,10 feet from my actor´s face, is it convenient to just throw another kino with less luminance than the key light to fill the shadow while not making it completely even, or can I use a reflector even if the key light is not really very close to the actor and save myself from getting another kino just to act as a fill?
@michaelwalsh34624 жыл бұрын
Bryan Alonso Galaviz Beltran _ Hi Bryan! If your 4x4 is as far away as you suggest, you may find that there is not much to “return” on your subject, if you use a bounce card. In that case, you might try a single kino tube, wrapped in diffusion, as a means of fill. I will always try for a bounce fill, because I like the ratios. However, I will use a very large bounce, like a 6x6, or 8x8 muslin, or other soft bounce for the size of the highlight.
@bryanalonsogalaviz51754 жыл бұрын
@@michaelwalsh3462 Thanks professor. It helped me alot as I am setting lighting schemes for a fake tv spot in a cinematography class. I think I am going to push the bounce card as fill light possibility as far as I can.
