Where about’s is that side of the ice cream run?

Riders left as you descend. It’s near the top before the broken pipe.

Great to see the Ice Cream Run get a mention. It's seems a little out of fashion nowadays. I prefer to rattle down the middle TBH, but it does look brutal ATM. I never imagined it would get to this point.
@baddevotions6 ай бұрын
It’s a bit of a classic tbh. Pretty much ridable all year except when it’s icy. I haven’t been down the middle for a while, probably due another visit!

FYI... the yellow signs indicate footpaths which you shouldn't be biking on and the blue signs are Bridleways which are legitimate to bike on. Well worth while looking at local guide books and become familiar with the eticate for biking in wild/remote places. Keeps everyone happy then to enjoy our beautiful country. Happy riding 🚵♂️👍
@baddevotions10 ай бұрын
Ah! Good to know! I had no idea, so thank you for that :)
@trevoredensor711410 ай бұрын
@@baddevotions No probs happy to share...unfortunately more and more bikers seem to ignore this guidance and unfortunately cause consirable wear and tear to the footpaths. Enjoy riding the Peaks as there are plenty of legitimate techy fun trails to ride 🚵♂️👍
@baddevotions10 ай бұрын
@@trevoredensor7114 Well, next time i go back i'll know to stick to the blue markers :) There were a few times when we thought we were off track and stopping to speak to walkers and runners put us right which was good 👍👍
@TheTree196810 ай бұрын
Good video. You innocently took the footpath, much harder route, down the lower part of Jacobs Ladder. The bridleway down is less steep, but still rough, to the right of the cairn.
@GMANS_BIKES_CARS10 ай бұрын
The video keeps freezing but the sound continues, you should of turned right at the sign to avoid the footpath which still ends up at the bridge but doesn’t upset the walkers, should only ever ride a footpath in an emergency 😬
@baddevotions10 ай бұрын
Thanks! Next time we head in that direction, we'll deffo take the right hand turn. Didn't really know where we were going as i hadn't ridden there before.
@Cars_Bikes_Trees10 ай бұрын
Could have ridden down the Jacobs ladder bridal path instead of the foot path

What's the best way to view trails like this in that area?
@baddevotions10 ай бұрын
hmmm.... best way to find things is either strava or probably kamoot. Or just ask some mountain bikers when you are out and about :)

What did you think of the wild I’ve just got one and it’s mega stiff just putting some rev grips on and see if it less tiring on the hands?
@baddevotions10 ай бұрын
Yes, the bike feels stiff out the box. It's taken me a while to get close on the suspension. I've The fork is near where i want it now, but I've had to open up the rebound and compression which has helped. I also removed a token from the fork. But the bike is feeling good now :) Really enjoying it.
@andreconway495010 ай бұрын
Yeah had to open mine up as it felt dead! Just put the Dh casing tyres on mine but it’s made it a lot slower rolling need to mess about with tire pressure and suspension settings! Riding Rivington at weekend so will update then.
@grannyjone10 ай бұрын
I've done it tons of times on normal MTB it's not that knackering as its not a long ride but I end up pushing up some of the climbs. Sometimes end up walking up a lot of the time when it gets steep for prolonged periods. When doing this solo the amount of gates spoils it a bit
@baddevotions10 ай бұрын
Maybe I’m getting soft in my old age! :) we also thought there were quite a lot of gates too.

Yes we stayed in Bourg. We’ve settled on using hotel l’autantic but ther are other good options. And there is a good campsite toward the other end of bourg called camping huttopia. I really enjoyed la plagne. Decent trails and a good off piste to the train station which we used to get back to Bourg.
