La sartoria napoletana meriterebbe di essere insignita del titolo di patrimonio UNESCO. Rubinacci, Kiton, Isaia, Blasi, Panico, Ciardi, Sabino, Antonelli, Cilento, Pirozzi e tanti, tanti altri ancora, hanno fatto la storia dell'artigianato.

Would anybody know what kind of liquid was brushed on the garment before it's ironed? Could it be something starchy?

Probably just water to create steam since it was brushed on the pressing cloth.

@@ZenAgain24 Possibly. I would think it's simpler to use a steam iron?

The damp pressing cloth places the steam more precisely . Steaming wool can be tricky. It can shrink or stretch the fabric.

These are the types of clothing worn by men in the 1950's-60's, and 70's. Every male wore a tailored suit. Men looked elegant, not today. Only a small % do! I lived through these era's. We have lost a lot.
