Sabine Lisicki always an injury machine it's unbelievable because all her injuries were on court playing not like practicing or because she fell at home and break the ankle or so

We need to see more of this side of Serena. She was respectful, empathetic, and hugged Sabine making her feel better. More moments like this with Serena.

I really loved the way Serena reacted to a very emotional Sabine on court and in interview. Honestly.... seeing Sabine being struck by another injury again and again makes me very sad. She once was a very promising player. Even back in 2012 (being then 22) she had experienced so many injuries that it may seem unreal. The worst was yet to come even. Ankle and especially shoulder injuries so often sidelined her. She still holds the official record for a women's fastest serve, yet her shoulder often does not allow "Bum Bum Bine" to show her "killer" serve. She does have an incredible fighting spirit, though and she is a very kind and cheerful person despite it all. She simply deserves more luck than she has.

I feel the same about Sabine. She was SO good, and had the weapons to be a great champion. Even though i'm the biggest Serena fan ever, i thought Sabine's 2013 sf Wimbledon win over Serena was incredible to watch. She really showed us who she was. imo, Poor fortune and injuries kept her too inconsistent to be able to dominate the way she was able.

People can say what they want about serena, the bad stuff :-( but deep down she is a good person and a sensitive, empathetic and sympathetic human being that cares for others. She is tough and has her moments, but she has a heart.

Serena has totally evolved as a person on the court. A class act and champion.
@sarahallendale18008 жыл бұрын
+DogDaybreak Serena has ALWAYS been a spiritually deep person. When Serena was an Innocent TEENAGER in that infamous Indian Wells final vs FOREIGNER Kim Clijsters, she (Serena) and her family were the victims of the most VILE, disgusting bigotry from demonically racist "fans" in the stands. Spiritually strong Serena Williams heroically managed to win, anyway. And Spiritually-Devout Teenaged Serena told that vicious crowd in the on-court interview this: "You all were not very nice to me, but I love y'all, anyway." !!!!! Serena had a wonderful upbringing by her spiritually-devout mother and her self-disciplined, positive, loving father. It was only after YEARS of abuse by bigots from the time she was a Champion as a mere CHILD that Serena finally had ONE real boilover on a tennis court during a 20 Year career. John McEnroe stated he Wishes he had been as calm in HIS career as Serena has been in HERS.
@dogdaybreak31578 жыл бұрын
+sarah allendale I think McEnroe wishes he'd been as a calm a tornado.

+DogDaybreak LOL I well remember Johnnie Mac's sad, epic tirades! If McEnroe had been Brazenly cheated over and over and over again by that demonic "umpire" who cheated against Serena during that infamous 2004 U.S. Open match vs Jennifer Capriati, he would have set the umpire's chair on FIRE! Shaking my head.
@dogdaybreak31578 жыл бұрын
+sarah allendale I honestly wonder what Mcenroe's career would have been like if they had Hawk-Eye or electric line checking technology back then. He'd probably be THE one player that would accuse of it of lying.
