Hi, sorry to bring up this past subject but I got one SHR Flex and feel very unconfortable when tight below the harness. The device slips below the harness a lot , creating a very unsafe feeling I can touch my chest with the helmet nib. I think Schrot need to review this device once it is dangerous.. besides when it slides it press the colar bones a lot... I spent a lot of money on that and I'm not using it.. I emailed the manufactor but they just told me to read the manual again and that slip is normal kkkkkk bad news I do not recomend it

My issue is that when i am deep into the brakes on the track in my WRX, the brake pedal is lower than the gas. So I have to brake with my toes pointed to keep my heel high enough to step over onto the gas to blip it, which is rather awkward. I adjusted my brake pedal to be as high as it goes, but its still not enough.

Great video! So I was about to purchase the CP8350 BBK but after I watched this video, I am now second guessing what the right purchase is. I'm really torn between the CP8350s or the CP9660 especially if you're upgrading even with the brake air duct system. I'm not sure how often you track but I want something that will get me by 6x weekends per year.
@RacecarWRX2 жыл бұрын
Skip the 8350 and just grab the 9660/9668. I'm not sure what the price difference is but you'd really be kicking yourself if you find yourself having to upgrade again like I did. In reality it's not about how often you track, it sorta just depends on how hard you are on the brakes. Laguna hills the 8350 kit because it's just a series of long straights into hard braking zones. Since I got this kit I think AP released an even bigger kit with 275 rotors I think.
@Eagleye117002 жыл бұрын
@@RacecarWRX okay yeah I’m pretty hard on the brakes as well I like to be as late as possible in the breaking zone. the price difference is about $1400 lol but yeah I think I should just figure proof myself. What pads are you running for street and for track? I’ve been recommended the Ferodo 1.11 for track and 2500 for street
@RacecarWRX2 жыл бұрын
I took the highest Ferodo pad. 3.1 I think. I typically use 100tw tires exclusively on the track and the pads seem to work well with them. I wouldn't use the 2500 for street driving, I did in the past and it ate my rotors. I just run HPS? Or HP? I forget what they are, but one of the entry level hawks for around town. But I rarely drive the car outside of going to the track and back

Wow that looks like a fun and challenging track. Your build up on progressive laps is great to watch. That Civic Type R's driving was a bit sketchy at times, glad when you got by him. Makes me sad as my car goes in the barn next week for it's winter nap.
@RacecarWRX3 жыл бұрын
Hey again! Good eye on the build up, it was very necessary. These tires were brand new, so still shiny on the shoulders and they don't like the cold. T2 kept washing out on me, so I just kept going around and around trying to warm the tires up to the point where they would stick. I'm not too sure what that CTR was doing, he seemed very lost. I think I came across him later that day, and he seemed fine. Probably just reacquainting himself with the car or track. My subie does the same today, I pull of the tires, change the oil, and put her away for our "Cali winter". Its cold enough that and potentially wet enough to ruin a track day, so I usually wait till Feb or March to try to head back out. Probably will be quiet around the channel for awhile, but gives me a chance to finish up my sim rig. Gotta get the driving in some how!
@gvandiv13 жыл бұрын
Doing iracing or something else? I started last year with my real world champ car team and it’s great. I’m using my OEM wrx seat, HP reverb 2 VR, and fanatec wheel and pedals. Unfortunately no good analog to a WRX, but definitely helps with vision and awareness in a crowd.
@RacecarWRX3 жыл бұрын
I use to have iRacing, but its too expensive for how often I get into the sim. I'm usually pretty casual, just hop on do some laps, try a few different cars. Recently some of the guys have been organizing races, and I try to qualify and race if I have time. We are all using Assetto Corsa. My current setup is a Logitech G27 with a Reverb G2. But I have an aluminum rig here, and I'm just waiting on the new fanatec gear to arrive. Doubt it makes me any faster, but it will be nice to have a better set of pedals and nicer wheel. I think there is one mod car mod for the WRX in AC, but the tires blow nuggets. I think I've gotten spoiled by driving all the formula cars.

Thank you for making this! I'm just starting this project on my own car but very new to this and using your video as a guide. I'm running RealTerm because I couldn't get putty to work, but when I filter through my spreadsheet I am not seeing patterns for TPS like you did and cannot locate it. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?
@RacecarWRX3 жыл бұрын
Year, make, model? Can bus wasn't as ubiquitous until after 2008. Older cars may not have as much info on the can network or might not even have a can network.
@24MattyY3 жыл бұрын
@@RacecarWRX It's a 2016 Vw Golf R. I was actually able to identify a channel that corresponds to TPS but the bits only run from 40-220, never drops down to zero or goes to 255 so I'm not sure if that's the primary TPS signal or not. It's displaying on the Dashboard gauge as around 16% to 86%, could this be correct and I just need to adjust the formula you think? And thanks so much for the response.
@RacecarWRX3 жыл бұрын
@@24MattyY You could just scale the formula so 40 = 0% and 220 = 100%. So maybe 180/100. I would also guess that you've found TPS voltage. TPS will always be some value greater than zero because it has to hold the throttle body open to let the car idle, which might explain why your byte value never gets to 0 and only bottoms out at 40. For a Golf R, I would imagine you have a TPS and a throttle position sensor. TPS doesn't always mirror accelerator position, such as when TC kicks in and pulls power from the motor even when your foot is pressing down on the throttle.

@@RacecarWRX That makes a lot of sense, I'll try adjusting the formula and see how it works. Strange thing is when I read TPS through the OBD setting and cable it's giving me the same values, around 16-86%!
