Of all the "professional' videos and how to's on changing mustang spark plugs I have found and watched, this one is by far the most useful and helpful. Great Job!

Thanks a lot for the video. I know it's probably non-relevant question, but how do you keep your engine so clean? Do you wash it somehow?

Hey guys, I have a really important question. I bought a 2006 Mustang GT. I'm being told the coolant system needs a flush. I noticed the existing coolant is orange. Being old school, Green is the only color I'm familiar with. So what is up with this orange, and is that what must be put back in? I've been reading about this color coolant on the internet. Virtually everyone says this stuff is nasty and should not be used. They even day it devours the engine head gaskets. And wouldn't you know I was told by Quick Lane that it looked like I have a leaky head gasket during a oil change and multi point inspection. So, I don't even remotely know what to do or believe. Help?

Yeah man my gf just got an 05 mustang v6 from a family member ( has like 102k on it) and I was doing an inspection on it and noticed that the coolant reservoir is nasty orange looking. Now all I can do is relate to my truck and that is because my coolant system has alot of surface rust because previous owner never flushed it out. So alls I can say is that we may have a bit if a rust problem. I'm thinking of taking it to the ford dealership and seeing what they have to say. Let me k ow what ends up being the solution to your problem.
@gastiresoil97589 жыл бұрын
Biggerbyte Never mix orange and green coolant, as it creates sludge. Flush your system and pick one and stick with it. Coolant doesn't eat head gaskets, so that's unrelated.

How do you unclip the hose things. I am able to open up the rectangle thing with the 2 hoses but not able to slide out the rear hose. Do i just pull it out or do i need a flat head screw driver to remove the long rectangle thing with the 2 hoses?

Nice video. Quick question. What model and year is this car. The airbox looks different than my 2008 328. But I assume most of everything is the same. Thanks!

Thanks for all the info this tutorial was great.. if i can just add 1 thing to anyone whos gonna try to pull the plugs its almost impossible to get the sparkplug tool from anywhere including your local bmw dealership. I ended up buying a 14mm 12 sided thin wall socket from sears its thinner than the normal long sockets amd also buy a magnet to pull out the plug. Then i had to grind down the out side of the socket considerably 360° of the outside so it will fit in the well. Good luck.

I have a 2009 IS250 and it took 2 hours for both my friend and I to install this. The front 2 rubber mount hangers (at the cat-back) were SUPER hard to remove. We ended up using WD40 and a lot of muscle to remove them. In the end, we realized that they are fine left on. The instructions (which we didn't see until after the installation) says to even leave the 2 bolts in at the cat-back. I think they should be removed to keep the stress off the joint but leave on the 2 rubber mount hangers. That way it's easier to handle the mufflers. The rubber hanger mounts in the back are slightly smaller and easier to remove but still might take some WD40 (we were surprised on how easy they came off once lubricated). Also, we bent the heat shields above the mufflers but couldn't get them back into shape, so we ended up removing them altogether and reshaping them. Again in the instructions it says to remove the heat shields and and trim them to allow clearance on the hitch. We didn't have to trim them but you definitely have to remove them to get the hitch up in there. In the end the only things we wish we would have done different from the video is to leave the two front rubber mount hangers on and remove the heat shields before installing the hitch. If done right the first time, 1-2 people can do this in 45-1hr. Thanks for the video.
3M adhesive is best. I used the all purpose like in the video the first time i did this....but when its hot outdoors like it is where i stay, the moisture in the car makes the fabric come right back off. I used the 3M adhesive and it worked perfect

when you started pouring the water in did you put the plsstic screw back on or did you just let the water drain thru the bottom of the car?

If you use Amsoil engine oil (every 10,000 miles) and Amsoil P.I. in the gas tank (every 4,000 miles) you won't need to do all this. You can put 500,000+ miles on the engine and the internals will look brand spanking new.
