Werner is wrong about raising 800,00,000 Chinese out of poverty. The truth is the Chinese people are slaves to the ccp. The average wage of most Chinese people is below poverty incomes for most of the first worlds population. Currently the economic prospects in China are going backwards faster than the high speed trains they built. There is no Chinese economic miracle just fast and lose manipulation by the ccp and the banks. Watch what happens over the next two years for the reality of the China economic failure to provide for the people. China may not collapse to dissolve, but prosper they won't. art

This film is pure propaganda. 14 whole hours and it did not deal at all properly with the local critique on documenta14. Documenta is a colonial project and this film is more proof of that.

E pensar que eu tive uma paixão platônica por esse saco de estrume neozelandês e ambulante do Peter Jackson nos últimos três anos. Fico de péssimo humor só de olhar para essa cara gorda e cínica dele.😡

Frankly, being a literature buff, out of all the people I would choose to sit down with and have a chat about The Lord of The Rings who worked on the movies, Fran Walsh and Christopher Lee would be the two. Although I realise the latter is now deceased, sadly. But yes, Fran more than anyone else I think, even Jackson. In my fantasy world that is and my wildest imagination. 😅

Radu Jude is a creative artistic genius, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE his latest film Do Not Expect to Much From the End of the World. Iilinca Manolache is dreadfully, mordantly funny. Now I gotta go back and watch all his other films. Inspirational! Romania is happening creatively.

There was no discussion here of the reference to Forbidden Planet on the clapperboard, which brings up the similarities in the title to Wim Wenders' Until the end of the world, with both films having a "mad scientist" whose work conflates machine intelligence with the id-subconscious and its destructive powers, represented here in more than one way: the old Soviet-era film, the new avatar social media "content," with all of its crudeness, and the German company, which distorts social truths as a matter of course. Unlike Forbidden Planet, this external force has no potential to save the day. Club Soda in Montreal is mostly used as a music venue and the character of Angela embodies the contradictory class location of the executant (media) petty bourgeoisie. A lesson in risk management for the destructive class.

In such a country and at such a time, there should be no melancholy evenings, even high bridges over rivers, and the hours between night and morning, and the long winter time as well, all these are dangerous, for in view of all the misery, people just throw in a few seconds time, their unbearable lives away.

Interessanter Fall parallelen Denkens: Hab 2016 einen recht ähnlichen 2-minütigen Kurzfilm gemacht (auf meinem Kanal anschaubar). Muss mich unbedingt mit Terence Davies' (r.i.p.) Filmografie mehr auseinandersetzen. Interesting case of parallel thinking: In 2016 I've done a quite similar 2-minute short film (viewable on my channel). I really need to delve into Terence Davies' (r.i.p.) filmography some more.

Bruce Baillie, one of the most greats of personal/expeerimental filmmakers. Although lumped with Brakhage, he was different created his own lyrical voice. Unusually, though very much West Coast and Zen, he does use western Christian imagery, titles and music in much of his work. The "Pieta" and "Mass" for the Dakota Sioux come from Christianity. It is the power of this music that uplifts and gives meaning to these beautifully photographed images.
