I travelled to Bhatinda from Ferozepur cantt during March 1970 to take my Art and craft exam .We stayed here for two days and watched the hindi movie Sawan Bhadon starring Rekha and Navin Nischal. It was Rekha's and Navin's first film and also my first film in a theatre. Jagjit was the name of the cinema and it was a typical small town cinema with torn seats , lot of rodents and light coming and going time and again and 3 hrs movie taking a long time to end. Bhatinda at that time was not as developed as it is today. It was called a sand town at that time and was just famous due to a cotton mandi and the biggest jn of not only India but also of asia. It had a seven way connectivity which has now reduced to six with the conversion of Fazilka Bhatinda line to broad gauze. BTI -FZR , BTI -DRI , BTI- NDLS , BTI - SGNR were all BG lines. BTI- FZA , BTI- HSR and BTI - HGH were MG lines.

I used to travel by this train during 1978 to 1981. It was called Jind fast passenger at that time and used to skip many small stations on its journey from Jind to Ferozepur cantt. At that time it used to start from Jind early in the morning and reach Ferozepur at approximately 1050 hrs.In its return journey it used to leave Ferozepur at 1430 and reach Jind at 2200hrs ,I think. It remained closed for many years but now runs regularly. Since it had 6- 8 passengers coaches it was also called the Jind shuttle. I think it is a very old train and running years earlier before I started travelling in this train.
