I was a respectable American child who lived in England from 8-12. I liked Space Jam. I went to a England game and there was sort of a vague terror to the whole thing. Like even when England scored, the joy was kinda menacing. Menace permeated. I think if a kid goes to a haunted house on Halloween here in the states he’ll get some of the same feeling.
