Shame this version is edited down, another channel dedicated to British Army Docs had the fuller version but that channel was wiped recently.

Endearing video in so many ways ....history gone but will never be forgotten in our great town, especially with wonderful videos like this one and the ones before. Burnley fc is rich in history and one we should all be proud of.

The surroundings of the route signing look very much to be the so called Heide. At about 13:40 the precise area is given away in radio communication to be very close to Lübeck, northeast of Hamburg.

3.5 million and probably one of the ugliest buildings I've ever clapped eyes on! Would of been far better to restore an old historical & attractive part of an industrial mill town like Burnley rather than a design similar to something from the 70s era. Other than that a great video.

I agree! I didn’t build the building! I would have rather the Mitre was renovated and never demolished

As an Army Cadet I remember the Chichester Marches ght were organised by the RMP. I as a member of Hants & IOW ACF. All the Portsmouth detachments travelled over to Chichester. Ironically. My sister now lives in what was probably the Married Quarters by the Garrison Church.

isolation by groups or significant others can and will be important to the person who is being radicalize whatever that means. They are taught how to manage their views ,thoughts I suppose . Radicalization this could be associated to culture where young persons are brought up in a cultural ideals where they are socialise in a particular culture which are different There is nothing wrong with other ideals other than normal societal views as longas their actions are not dangerous .This mean violence ,forcing or teaching dangerous activities which can cause lost of live to self and others or criminal activities. With that been said persons should be left alone if they are respectful ,valuing of life and property of selves others and do every thing in their power to preserve life and society on a whole. people are different and can be different as long as the law of the land is respected and obey, and value each others as how they themselves should be respected and be safe freedom to share views in a respectful and civilized society.

Great video - loved seeing some old, familiar scenes from an age gone by. Brought back some wonderful memories. Just a minor correction though - at 6:37 the scene change from Parliament Street to Branch road is actually Parliament Street looking down Plumbe Street. I was born on Finsleygate so I knew that corner shop (florist/green grocer) quite well. Both of my parents worked at Whittams Mill just down Plumbe Street on the left hand side of the photo. Really appreciate the effort you put into making this presentation, Cheers.

I'm a former MP (RMP in the British Army 1961 to 1966) then a few years later RACMP (Australia) which included a Detective Training Course with Victoria Police. A bloody career path from start to go. Not all police work of course. There're a heap of military skills to learn. Excellent career path for any fit young bloke or blokess!

Thanks for that, really enjoyed it, was born in Burnley 1945, remember heasandford & Netherwoods, steaming hot black puddings at the stall outside the market hall on a winters day, cattle market where the bus station was originally off Parker lane, oh what lovely memories, & the locarno, which became Cats Whiskers.

Too true mate. Former squaddies are thrown aside as the resources are ploughed into 'diversification' and the traditional recruiting pool of the UK military are being treat as second class citizens in the land of their ancestors - will they respond if the country calls? There is going to have to be a huge change of attitudes in the ruling elites before your average working class lad feels connected to any mission run by this bunch of self serving slimeballs.

You don't see many boarded up houses now in Burnley and a lot of the old terraced houses have been refurbished. My impressions from a visit in December 2023.
