Did the folks at NEWARK ever apologize to the Church of God for causing the worst split in the independent church of God groups by SPLITTING CONGREGATIONS all over the USA???? I was 13 years old when that happened. It was terrible.

Greetings, Years back, I went through this issue. If you read Revelation 12, you read about a woman her character is pure, she is a great wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun (the gospel of Christ) and the moon (old testament) is under her feet. She was travailing with child (new converts). She brought forth a man-child who would rule all nations (Christ is the head of the church of God). This church has a body of believers that are saved and living free from sin. And as Jesus said in Matthew 16:18. " The gates of hell (or spiritual babylon) shall never prevail against it. The issue is this: You cannot change the character of the woman in Revelation 12, that appeared a great wonder in heaven clothed with the gospel of Christ, and change her character into the same women as depicted in Revelation 17. God's church never became part of the harlot, neither can it be. Read about the woman in revelation 12 then compare that woman to the harlot woman in revelation 17. If you had your choice which woman would you want to be a part of. The division happened because they started preaching that the woman in revelation 12 became part of the woman in revelation 17 (mystery babylon mother of harlots, Part of those that murdered the saints (Rev 17:6) Hope that makes things a little clearer.

I quote from a letter written on March 6th, 1986, from the Lakeland, Florida ministers meeting: 1. The church existed all the way through the gospel day, it was never destroyed (true) 2. Even so, because of the results of the morning time apostacy THE CHURCH got carried away into SPIRITUAL BABYLON until the evening time. You can say the other side never said it, but there is the proof. They say that God's church the true woman as depicted in Revelations 12 became part of the harlot women (spiritual babylon) in revelation the 17th chapter!!

If doctrine doesn’t matter than you will fellowship anybody that says they love Christ and YOU feel has a good spirit.

The word and the Spirit always agree. Doctrine was important to the early church read Roman’s 16:17, 2 Jn 1:10 just to name a few. Doctrine makes us who we are!

Interesting how he says the whole word of God is doctrine and then says the symbols in the book of Revelation are not doctrine. If you say that the Church of God was in Babylon at any point you destroy the Church of God. Isa 9 lets us know that it would have never be left to men.

Very insightful. Thank you. I was wondering Bro. Mullins could you expound on how you reached the point where you examined what you have been taught and wall is through your experience of searching and questioning. Then ultimately discuss how you were able to arrive at the truth? How were you able to confidently stand on the truth discovered.

Spanogle preached that he would never make it a test of fellowship over how you handle a symbol. Yet that is exactly what he did with Brother Storts over the 7th seal earthquake symbol iirc

Brother Storts from Knoxville Tennessee did not follow them. The Morgan city pastor, one from Tulsa Oklahoma and one from New Smyrna Beach went to him and turned his wife and congregation against him. They accused him of sinning over an error in math or something and replaced him with brother Robbins from brother Pergrims congregation. At one point Spanogle preached Victory seen and unseen and Victory all the way through messages. Sad to see how he changed. I have heard many of these men preach since coming to truth in 1985

What constitutes a "glorious body and visible church" Is it 2 or 3? Is that a body? Could there of been bodies of saints meeting in their houses? Is that not a visible body? Just simple questions...

it caint be one as it says when two or more are gathered in His name. One person can not show forgiveness and compassion. church is from the Greek word eklassia which means the gathering or people of God. The church gathers as many as it can but it was dangerous back then. It was be a Catholic or die. Without getting caught up in the use of proper nomenclature or the semantics of it. I would say the word visible means after they are called out. ie.. come out from among them my people

It's a huge step for the mind to overcome, it's almost like breaking free from a cult. To set the mind free from teaching that was in error takes time. God does it. He sets us free. He knows the limitations of the mind. Think about Peter and Cornelius and then the brethren that questioned Peter. It was a huge step to overcome the teachings and upbringings. The Holy Sprit gave the understanding. And also the subject of circumcision. Again we find reasoning amongst differing parties. But the Holy Spirit worked it out. Oh Holy Spirit work it out for us today.

I think about the children who are raised to believe that a scripture has a certain meaning and to reject all other interpretations as heresy. When that child grows into a young adult there can be 1. a serious struggle to accept someone as a child of God who believes a different interpretation or 2. a spiritual struggle to understand "what happened?" Why the split? Why the division? What is going on with God's church? And how do I navigate? And ultimately God how can you use me to bring your light?

As for Reconciliation,in 2nd Cor 5;18 and 19 apostle said And all things are of God Who has us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation, verse 19 saysTo wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself not imputing their tresspasses unto them, and hath committed unto us the ministry of reconciliation. In this epistle,i found out a very deep mystery as i in regard to salvation was that GOD WAS IN CHRIST RECONCILING THE WORLD UNTO HIMSELF; you God was in CHRIST[SO TO ME I WAS SHOCKED TO READ THAT A WHOLE GOD WAS IN HIS SON JESUS CHRIST[SO TO ME IT IS A MYSTERY]. And to me the first step in reconciliation is to repent and have the knowledge of rebirth.

Dear brethren i the father of Progress by name Pastor Christian Ogbuka and by the special grace of God i am the leader of this church of God in Nigeria. I have watched my daughter and your questions on Forgiveness,Reconciliation. And my contribution is that WITHOUT REPENTANCE IT IS DIFFICULT FOR FORGIVENESS TO TAKE EFFECT IN MAN.

I have listened to this interview. You have clearly explained the challenges that you and your father are facing in your ministries there in Nigeria. I pray that some of the viewers of your interview will begin to contact you and Christian with their pledges of support for your ministries. The world-wide members of the Church of God should be inspired by your dedication to God's work in Nigeria. Thanks for this invitation to hear your interview. It demonstrates to me that you are really working to enlist more friends from your denomination into a supporting network of dedicated disciples for God's work in Nigeria. Please keep me posted regarding more reports of your work. Rev. Robert Sherbondy
