Maybe if they infused the plot lines of Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Silver Chair as a film in a creative way by a very talented director, the franchise may have lasted. 🤷‍♂️

17:06 Judy didn't become a cop to be famous or succesful, she wants to make the world a better place and with that speech she did the opposite. It is honorable to resign when you realise you are a menace to society. It shows her character. Nobody else shamed her but she had dignity and realised she didn't deserve the badge.

the queen of the clouds is (in my brain) obviously the beast. She says wirt is too far gone so ''it'' (being the beast) could get wirt to come after greg and trick wirt into take after the old woodsman and refill the beasts light. i think the beast rather chose wirt to go after greg instead of the other way around because it was more likely greg would figure it out as soon as the beast mentioned the lantern. In other words, the beast wouldn't be able to pull the same trick on greg as he did on wirt in the final episode. But wirt was still smart enough to realize the whole ''u need to feed this light forever and ever so greg dont die'' was a bit odd. but thats just my theory so 🤷‍♀

What most people miss about Zootopia is that the movie does just as much to confirm bias as it does to dispel it. Judy is immediately suspicious of Nick because he's a fox... well, no, that's not actually true. She NOTICES Nick because he's a fox, but Nick's shifty behavior is why she suspects him. And, in the end she was right. Nick was, in fact, shifty. Sure, Nick had a big sob story on why he was shifty, but Nick's a grown man. He's responsible for his own behaviors now. But the movie doesn't make light of any of these details. They're all present.

I just realized that the reason you hear a train on tracks and a whistle blowing at the end of the title screen is because the boys fell into a pond below the tracks because they were avoiding it which caused the events. Makes sense that you hear it at the beginning of each episode since it started the journey.

I personally love the world building of Zootopia. The way the city has accommodations for all animals, the way the film makes a city full of animals work, It's really great stuff.

Things about the ringing of the bell: 1. Her mention of Adelaide is worldbuilding establishing that they're sisters but also by her giving the warning unprompred differentiates her as genuinely not ill intentioned though she seems similar to Adelaide 2. She thought lorna would abandon her if the demon problem was solved which is probably why she was hesitant to just banish it outright, or perhaps she didn't have the power to banish it because of being involved in witchcraft or maybe greg is just purehearted enough to banish it. And i think wirt WAS too lost as the cloud queen said. Gregs deal was for greg to take his place which is why he woke up and greg ends up with the beast

I remember I used to watch movies on VHS tapes, and I still have my VHS collection. But whenever I went to my grandparents house, I would watch cartoon network, because they didn't have a VHS system. I remember seeing random episodes of over the garden wall, and I was so confused, 1. because it's a confusing show, and 2. because I had no context to these episodes, and the best I could do was try to piece together the storyline whenever I saw a new episode

The reason why auntie whisperers had to say beware my sister is so that Wirt's happiness he felt throughout the episode would melt away building up for Wirt turning into an edlewood in babes in the wilderness. was this helpful to you?

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is a hard act to follow. It's the one story in the Narnia chronicles that everyone knows or has read. My favourite is The Magician's Nephew, but I consider that one almost unfilmable.

@@naisargibuch2168 I actually learnt how to love reading from that book. Beforehand I read mechanically, and with no real appetite for it. I was about 7 years old, and my parents were strict in sending me to bed early at around 7:30-8pm. I had to keep quiet, and stay in bed. In winter is was easy, but in summer with the sun shining through the curtains, and noises of older children playing coming up from the street, it was very hard and very boring. Being so bored, I ended up getting a book off the bookcase and reading it. It was The Magician's Nephew. The teacher had read The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to us at school, but I didn't realise that this book was related to it when I started reading. I was transported from my sunny bedroom to Edwardian London, then on to The Wood Between the Worlds, Charn, and finally Narnia. I was totally spellbound, and the wonder of the story kept me reading. There was a frisson of doing something I shouldn't (reading instead of sleeping), but there was also the stillness and familiarity of my bedroom contrasting so much with the adventure story I was reading. I understood at that moment that reading could be fulfilling, and from then on my reading got a lot better.

I actually liked the trilogy and found the second one too war heavy…I get that is the plot but not my cup of tea There is also another version of the Dawn Treader by another company but I actually think Disney did a better job than they did As to Lucy I don’t think it is her wanting to be as pretty as Susan but that whole thing of standing apart from her instead of being compared to her…Lucy is growing up but wants to stand on her own not with people saying Susan this or Susan that…like Jan and Marsha in the Brady Bunch

I like this mini series as an one off, but I wish it had something like 12 or 13 episodes, since the episodes are just 11 minutes long it is all pretty short, so I think it would’ve been nice to have some extra episodes to better develop characters like Greg and Beatrice.

No, no, no, you're completely right about the audience caring about specific characters over the world as a whole. The story world is a mere extension of the characters whose journey we follow. It's what make a movie like The Avengers more than a simple "save the world because it's the right thing to do" story. Think about the character of Jane Foster. She is essentially the reason Thor becomes an Avenger. When Loki threatens Planet Earth, he threatens Jane Foster and that's what get's Thor personally invested in saving Earth. Back to Zootopia, this movie may have had a weak twist villain in Mayor Bellwether, but it had a stellar antagonist in Nick Wilde.

Excellent analysis. I'd like to add a couple things you'd like to know. Cats are usually the ones who lead souls to their final destination in many cultures. And the series does a paralelism with Divine Comedy in many ways, Beatrice is the exact opposite of the Beatrice in the Divine C., for example. And the levels of hell are paralel to the encounters, the tavern is paralel to the gluttony level bc in DC the penitents cannot eat even though there is plenty of food, as well as in the tavern and so on with all the other encounters and characters.

The BBC did a wonderful live action TV adaptation in the 1980s which is far better than the Disney films. That’s because the Beeb has writers and directors who understand that lots of fancy CGI and editing just get in the way of telling a story.

Frankly I’m not fond of the second film either because 1. Peter comes across as immature and egotistical and challenges Caspian’s authority. In the book and first movie he was always the most serious and mature of the four children. 2. The Susan and Caspian romance just feels so out of place and thrown in for the heck of it. The first movie is excellent for all the reasons you state. The only thing I didn’t care for were the fox scenes replacing the witch turning the Christmas party into stone. They just felt so modernized. But still, they don’t hurt the first film that much.

I should have enjoyed the lion the witch and the wardrobe, but I didn’t. Because, I held it up to the bbc series which is superior in my opinion. Even though the graphics aren’t up to par, but the whole series makes a wholesome watch over the Christmas period 🥰🎄🎄🎄
