5:40 why the weird cut between what happened. If you watch the video frame by frame, the panda is starting to move to the left just before it cuts. Is this just fake and staged?
@JoshFarleyMagic
@JoshFarleyMagic 8 ай бұрын
It's not fake or staged... shot in a single take with a live audience. That said, I completely agree with you. I was very disappointed by the edit :/ We spent hundreds of hours, hired magic consultants, etc. to make the switch very clean. Penn told me that, "it made Teller gasp and that's not an easy feat."

We are all used to the "deliberately poor" editing done by the FU producers to distract or obfuscate by cutting between cameras when important moves are made, but this takes the biscuit! What on Earth were they thinking of to cut away and completely miss the appearance (or switch) of Brooke to the DJ decks on stage right?
@JoshFarleyMagic

I know! I was pretty disappointed by the edit :/ spent hundreds of hours, hired magic consultants, whole lot of money to make the switch very clean. Penn told me that, "it made Teller gasp and that's not an easy feat." Unfortunately it is what it is.

@meandmyworld8401
@meandmyworld8401 Жыл бұрын
No-one should be the victim of bullying in the 21st century. There are very effective prevention and intervention programs available that minimise or even completely eradicate bullying from schools or any other setting. No-one is born a bully. Unfortunately that scientific knowledge still hasn't found its way into all corners of society. The problem is, once a bully has developed and gets away with it, it becomes a slippery slope towards amplified disrespect for others and the law, i.e. criminality. The sooner this route is cut off, the better, both for the individual, for the victims, and for society as a whole. It is great to see how someone frees themselves from the isolation that comes with bullying. This is a very nice trick and I would not be suitable as an assistant here because my skeleton is as stiff as the Eiffel Tower.

guy built a box from home specifically for one act; penn said it was flawless himself but not fooled unless you buy a pack of LED playing cards from the giftshop outside...I feel I am the one who is fooled by this standard which constitutes qualification... I bet in reality they know every trick and it's just a coin flop with how penn drops the bomb that determines win or loss saving only pride

I was 1000% fooled while watching the performance for the first time. Very well done. When her hand popped up from the top with the front panel removed, I said "Dang! That's cool! How are they doing it?". But of course, this is KZbin. We can watch and re-watch as many times as we want. So with observation and deductions I eliminated the impossible and whatever was remaining must be the truth. By the way, a little mistake (or overlooked detail) helped me solve one part of the puzzle. An article of clothing to be more precise. To figure out the main part of the trick (where's the assistant), geometry led to the answer.

Why on earth you said this trick is one of a kind when we all know that this kind of strick has been done a million times before, you know, the girl on the box and then the swords... right, you used "words", but it's the same principle, added to another very used trick that could be called "transposition" where two people exchange places in an, supossedly, impossible fast time.
@warehouseproductions8152
@warehouseproductions8152 2 жыл бұрын
It was designed and published by Jim Steinmeyer but it had never been built before. There are similar illusions, definitely. But it’s one of a kind in the sense that the prop, presentation, and method are different. It’s similar to other illusions and concepts but there are a number of aspects that are very unique.
@manusoftar
@manusoftar 2 жыл бұрын
@@warehouseproductions8152 what can I say... I respectfully disagree, the method used seem to be the same of always, that's why Penn and Teller where not fooled. Whenever you see a box that is black inside or you have a black background, then, is more than clear that some "black magic" is involved. In this case, the black interior helped to give the illusion that the box was smaller than it actually was, in fact, it was big enough for the assistant to fit inside (and later pull the hand out of the wooden "rod"). In all the variation of the sword trick, it is always a matter of size, the box or nasket is bigger than it looks, given enough space for the assistant to avoid being impaled by the swords, well here is almost the same principle that applies.

This is so much more fun to watch than a traditional sword box. We all know a trick being done over and over on stage has to be safe. Your version makes me focus on the fact I have no idea how you did it. Great job
