If I understand your question correctly, you want to model tapered section. In Tekla Structural Designer, you can only define single constant section size for each beam/column. However, you may consider defining multiple segments(spans) along each beam/column and assign different equivalent sections.

Hi DosTime, you may consider adjusting the minimum/maximum steel spacing in the beam design settings (see 0:38). Also, after adjusting the settings, try to redesign the beams

Unfortunately, the answer is no. TSD doesn't support the mix of metric units and US customary units.

Do the TSD models actually consider torsion in the edge beams highlighted in the slide at 1:56? It seems that beams are being loaded at their axis. This torsion is not only important for the beams as it also leads to transverse bending at columns.

The said additional torsion can be applied along the beam as Torsion UDL/VDL if that is your concern for entire structure. However, the off-centre effect on the lower smaller beam cross section (boot section) will be checked in the Tedds Precast Calculations.

This error usually means you have either assigned too many pinned ends in your model OR some members are not connected properly. To quickly find out, you may try to set everything to FIX ends and rerun the analysis.

You are explaining the content really fast. Most of the viewers want to learn TSD but it seems you prepared the video for TSD Pro's not beginner users. Please demonstrate a slower pace. I find myself constantly pausing the video to see what you are doing. Thanks

Thank you very much! ! But just wonder why Tekla Structural Designer make this properties window disappear when click the "x", and so difficult to recover it? Should make it easy to close it and recover it easily... It takes me a long time trying to recover the "properties" window but to no avail, only know how to recover the window after viewing your view, thanks so much, and hope the software can make it easier in the future update versions...

The issue you've mentioned does not happen to the current TSD2021 - I've tried on TSD2021sp3, clicking on the "x" (close) button on the Properties window to close it, and it can easily reopen via the 'Window' ribbon tab > 'Properties Window' button.

This is informative for beam members, but what if all nodes are connected to columns and beams, and the warning is associated with the steel column?
