Hello, great project, I wanted to know how many Newtons for the solenoid motors of the bumpers and flippers. Thanks you.❤
@fabe16909 сағат бұрын
Hello, thank you! For the most assemblies i use JF-1038 and KK-1039 rated at 12 Volt Solenoids (i don't know how many newtons they have, i even don't belive what the chinese manufacturers are rating them). However for beeing powerfull enough, i run them wit ~30V. But for this you have (!!!) to prtoect the solenoid from overhrating. If you are interested in more details check my Cults3d.com page: cults3d.com/en/users/wilfriedfabian/3d-models

@@fabe1690 I made everything by hand, using ready made components. seems from watching the video, your PCB seems to be the board that switches to the low current once your end of stroke is detected so the solenoids don't get too hot? Each inline drop target can be dropped by the game. This can be seen when the game you are recreating is tilted( kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHPCpY19pLx7fdk ) - notice the delay between the "Tilt" insert lighting up and the voice, which says "Riptied!". In that delay you can hear all 6 inline targets dropping down.

I just used regular Libaries needed for the Hardware (wire, Adafruit_MCP23017 -> I/O Expander, U8g2lib -> small troubleshooting display) , but non for programming the pinball gameplay, However for the Fathom I plan to use an Ardunio Giga, because the Mega were already on its computing limits. @@fabe1690 Hi Fabian, thank you for the feedback 🙂 Why do you not use Raspberry Pi 4/5 (1,6 GHz) instead of Arduino Giga? Because of IO ports/shields, accessories, or oversized? And do you create the game rules yourself in VB or JAVA, or do you use a ROM from the original pinball, maybe even AI. Again, great project, great video/instructions! 👏 I'm excited to see if I have enough skills to recreate all of this. I'm looking forward to more pinball projects and what's to come. Best wishes, Harry

@@hri9854 Hello, thx for you messeg. The main reason i usean arduino was because i was familar with its programming even before i started the Pinball projects. I have chosen Mega because it has already a lot of i/o pins. Hi, yes there is an option for a central controller. however i made the Circuit the way that you can build a small pinballmachine without an controller, hence all bumperst can act autonomosly. regards!

another curiosity, are you going to make this machine complete with backglass and the four scoreboards, and if so do you have the measurements, I had started one here, the playfield was 0.50 centimeters by 1.10 one meter and ten I don't know if this is correct these measurements, but for me to be able to build a table using your STL files, it would have to be the measurements you are using on this machine, in this case I will make the same machine but with a different theme, a Taito 1983.
@fabe16904 ай бұрын
Hello Edu, no i will not make a "box with Backglas". i will do a led Matrix 8*64 similar to the one i did for my space shutller replica -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZjUZXesgcR4hK8 The Playfiled of the Fathom and as well Space shuttle is 100x50cm in size.

This is very interesting Fabrication to me. I own an old pinball machine that I play with. I have been thinking of making a pinball machine for a few years now and will likely start once I fully retire here in Canada. I think I will try and replicate an existing old pinball machine perhaps the same one you are doing as it has all the various assemblies. I also do 3d printing and machining with access to cnc machines. I'm still researching how I will go about this project. One thing I have found is a guy who 3d printed bumpers that had conductive print material, he printed the body and apron the ball runs over to make the trigger happen because the ball is conductive. I'm wondering about the electronic boards and entire system as to what you are using?

I love seeing more 3d printing in homebrew. Makes it more reachable. Great work! I wonder how it holds up to the steel hits. I feel like a quality resin print might do better, or look more polished? If doing abs/asa, try acetone smoothing and clear coating. Resin prints look great with clear coat and they can be clear allowing for lighting effects too. Even if 3d mech isn’t forever, you can just reprint a replacement cheap enough. After cleaning rust off old Bally Williams mechs for days and weeks, I doubt the time to reprint future 3d mech will be any worse !!!!
