This is what made Bart Starr a terrible head coach. The Packers still had 3 timeouts and could used them to get the ball back with some time, but Starr never used them. The Bears ran the clock down to 10 seconds and kicked the game winning field goal there.

Lots of comments below on the coaching ability of Mike Ditka. Mike was brought in to Chicago to instill discipline and competitiveness. But he led by intimidation, which is exactly what he did on the field. If you don't follow him on the field, he would punish you. He was the same as a coach. The Bears had a league reputation as being generally noncompetitive with players with indifferent attitudes (except Payton). Mike simply wanted to bring back that competitiveness and shed the indifference on the roster. Him and Jerry Vanisi did just that. But as time went forward, men out of college became adult men of the field. They didn't require the intimidation tactics Ditka used to get them ready for a game. They already knew how to get ready and began to tune him out. As for trading McMahon, it was the right thing to do. He was near a contract end, he clearly couldn't be re-signed at any competitive rate due to his chronic injuries. No one on the Bears doubted his skills, but they had to make a business decision with him. His post Bears career showed that he still had skill, but also got injured alot. The Bears made the right decision. As for firing Ditka, the losing was impacting his health, both physical and emotional. He is an "out front" guy and couldn't contain his feelings. He loved the Bears and wanted to do right by them with all his heart, but he couldn't.

I gotta giggle from the fact that Tim Ryan calls quarters periods, ALL GAME LONG! Then, at the end of the third quarter, the guy doing the graphics puts up, "End of the third period." It's like they had been listening to Tim Ryan say it for three quarters and they FORGOT they were quarters and not periods! Love Johnny Morris calling out the Blitzes every time there's a blitz! Love it!

Who sticks a 5’9 159 lbs cornerback against 6’3 205 lbs receivers who run a sub 4.4? Stinson covering Jerry Rice was the funniest! Vestee Jackson was later selected to pro bowl with Miami.Jackson was 6’0 187 lbs.

I was a freshman in high school & would watch the games with my dad every Sunday. 1984 is the year the Bears games became “can’t miss TV” in my little hometown in Illinois. Great channel … brings back amazing memories.

@Beau im trying to get some info on how you upload these full length games to get around copyright infringes, because i have 100s of full length Bears games i would like to upload on a channel like you do ... thanks
@beaubear6234 ай бұрын
Don’t monetize your channel, and maybe the copyright owners will let you post on your channel with ads. There are games like the 1985 Giants Bears playoff game that is blocked from anyone posting it on YT.
@beaubear6234 ай бұрын
If your games have commercials, there could be copyrighted material, such as music that can get the whole thing blocked. So keep that in mind.

@beaubear623 i thought maybe we could get in trouble with the NFL also, but i guess as long as your not making money of it ..shouldnt be a problem ,you have couple games I don't have, this is a fun hobby I have been doing for years, I have about 90% of Bears games from 1977 to present day on dvds...slowly putting on a hard drive , I love having all the Walter payton games

It would have been nice if Ditka didn't take lumps of coal and try to turn them into diamonds. (Tomzack, Harbough, & Flutie) Should have signed a QB that was good or done something. The QB's were the only reason that they didn't win more Super Bowl's.
