I just returned from Majestic Mirage. We had a good time. But this video and others on KZbin really need to be taken with a grain of salt. You can do a lot worse than Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana, but that being said this place has its fair share of faults. And I'm not singling out this resort because many of its faults seem to be the norm among Punta Cana resorts in general. For example, food is not gourmet. Depending on the meal it could be good, it could be lousy, but more often than not it's just okay. But it's definitely not gourmet. And butler service is really just some app where you get sent daily messages about what's going on that day, and you can try to get reservations at certain restaurants. Our "butler" was nowhere to be seen during stay. You also have a pretty high chance of your A/C unit not working well. And service in general is 50/50. Sometimes great and sometimes horrible. I have been going to Punta Cana for twenty years. I accept its faults and overall do enjoy my visits. But don't expect too much. Lower your expectations, and remember you aren't in a first world country with first world infrastructure. Like try night to catch a stomach bug. You will still have a really good time.

I’ve been to this resort and I’d recommend it but not for the restaurants just stick to the buffet. The restaurants were lacking in portion sizes not much on the menus either. I had to order a few appetizers just to fill me up. Everything else was great.

Is the tennis racquet and standard paddle board need to rent or the hotel provided？

We went in 2014. First time to Jamaica. We loved it. Nothing bad to say. What the video left out or didn't cover well: Not only "introductory" on-site scuba, but we got certified, (extra cost) and now we dive on every vacation we go on. We must have had ten dives over one week. The crew was very professional. Catamaran sunset cruise was amazing. Golf wasn't included when we went. Night club/casino had no one in it at night. Food was great. Lots of water toys. Hobie Cat is my favorite and unlike Cuba, you actually sail it yourself, (if you know how). Ẁe thought about going back, but it is pretty expensive for our budget. But it was more than worth it once.

This review sounds like a paid advertisement. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! When we arrived we were told the hotel was overbooked, and they have to move us to the “family friendly” and old Riu Palace. We spoke to many staff about what happened and they all said that this is what Riu does. They can’t fill the Palace so they overbooked Antillas! There were 14 other couples that had the same thing happened to them on our arrival alone. Who knows how many more people this happened to. We paid more for Antillas but they sent us to the Palace and said we would receive a 15% refund on our total vacation. This never happened! There are too many negatives to mention and the nightly shows are absolutely terrible!

Very glad I cross checked this video with tripadvisor. Some very unloved properties on this list.

Thank you for this review. Would also like to know what the ocean is like? Worried it’s too rough and that you can’t swim in it? Any thoughts? I just booked for end of December but still looking around because we really want a beautiful beach/ocean to enjoy.

I just went a week ago and thought it was great. Had so much fun. And staff was great. Everything was clean, food wonderful. The rooms were beautiful . Five us went for a ladies week away. We booked a tour with Michael on the beach and it was a great tour. Room service was good. The only problem was booking the specilties resturants, on line. But I just went to them personally and booked them. No problems. All in all a great Place to be. The shows were fun. Feeding the monkeys banana;s on the beach was great fun. But be careful with food. They are fast to steal the food. Lol!

What a pointless video

The hotel was awful. We hated our trip. Beds were super firm and the view was of construction that lasted until around 10pm. The splash area for kids is part of the kids club and you can’t bring in food or drinks. Staff at the buffet try to have servers but they don’t have a designated area and jump around the dining area so I had 3 servers taking my drink order at the same time. Super dated resort and more catered to the locals.

Mostly very good, good food and service. Lot of humidity which they can’t do much about. Loud annoying Americans who feel the need to constantly talk (shout) louder than the person beside them is the main drawback

Tuve la mala experiencia de encontrar una pesima recepcionista,nos dejo en linea casi 1 hora y media esperando para hacer el check in,eramos mi familia de 7 personas y atras havia una linea de 30 personas,ella estuvo atendiendo a una persona,le pedimos que pida ayuda y no nos hizo caso,esto paso el 13 de octubre de este ano,despues del amargon la pasamos bonito dizfrutamos mucho y la atencion del personal es excelente,lindo resort y lindo mexico

Can you make a video of new Cancun resorts opening that are good for destination wedding

Visited Palladium in April 2024, food was awesome as was the resort overall. Staff was amazing. Some things worth mentioning - as someone recovering from a heart attack 2 years ago, April was hot a f. This meant walking was difficult between 10AM and 4PM. And there is a LOT of walking at this resort! Main building is central with blocks of rooms housed in individual buildings all over the property. Rooms in the individual buildings are 6 rooms per floor and 3 floors per building. Many of the buildings are a long walk from the main building (which houses the majority of the bars and restaurants, as well as the main pool). There are NO elevators in the buildings at all, except the main building which has 2 small elevators at either end (the main building itself is at least the length of a football field, so it’s a long walk even to these elevators). Be prepared to climb stairs every time you want to come and go from your room (unless you request a main floor room). There are shuttles (golf carts) that will move you around the resort but they are in high demand and service can be infrequent due to demand, so walking or a lot of patience in waiting for the shuttles are required. The one beach (near Poseidon restaurant - which wasn’t that great for seafood as indicated in the video) has a steep incline so getting up and down to the beach isn’t an easy walk. Just mentioning this because if you’re at all mobility disadvantaged or can’t handle stairs or long walks, this should be a consideration. Nothing wrong with the resort but this information is never mentioned in the video reviews.

Stay away from any royalton hotels if you are looking for good food and good service. We had our worst Aai experience at Royalton. Hilton and Hyatt you can go eyes closes. They really care about their guests.

Royalton should not he on this list. The worst experience ever! Below average food and trully disappointing service. Even vanity kits had mold in them. New building leaks everywhere. Literally everywhere when it rains.
