Hospitals, drs and pharmacies all paranoid thinking you’re trying to get the good meds when all you want is help. Especially true pain pts! They are paying the price for this epidemic

I had the honor of serving on the Board of the Maine Association of Recovery Residences with Alison. She is truly one of the shining lights within the community and we are so fortunate to have someone like her as an allie. Her influence has been so important in my life and my sobriety as I have grown throughout the years. I'm so glad you brought her on the podcast.

The first time I did coke felt amazing but it's impossible to feel that 1st hit ever again and that's a good thing because I know it's a waste of time trying to chase that feeling... really a shit drug... beer and weed is all you need!

Its called medication ASSISTED treatment for a reason. The medication is just one facet of the total treatment program. In my Suboxone program, I take the medication but I also do individual and group therapies where I learned that you must change everything about your addiction lifestyle, not just the drug. If i was Rxd suboxone but continued running with the same people and hanging at the same places I would've never recovered.

Funny thing, it took me years to realize that clean and sober meant CLEAN…and sober. It’s not an existential conundrum, it’s unbelievably simple.

My life would be much better off suboxone assuming that the active opioid effects in suboxone are not curing my depression which I don’t think they are. I’m exhausted constantly have to dose constantly it’s very uncomfortable each morning. Please allow us to get off and the only way I’ve seen this done is having months of time off from work or school or ironically weaning to a small enough dose and then going back to pain medications until the suboxone is long out of your system and then dealing with the 5-14 day withdrawal of regular opiates (14 being a very high max). I mean I’ve done it and experienced trying to quit. Weened to .2-.5 and then stopped for a month and was still having extreme physical symptoms. Diarrhea. Nauseous, extreme body aches. Not being able to sleep for the first few weeks more than a couple hours. When you do wean off your first time you’ll feel the wildest emotions and it’s amazing. You’ll find yourself highly emotional crying to maybe a sad song or movie or video. Feeling bliss. On suboxone this is all gone. It’s quite literally taken the life out of me. It’s actually no less evil than the sacklers oxy and Valium epidemics. They don’t want you to quit and just like during the oxy epidemics doctors will promote you to be on higher doses typically because the literature says it works better and has higher success for patients. The price you pay is mighty. A wise redditor once said before I took it.” This medication may get you to stop using but you’ll likely have to use again in order to get off it.”

I agree in empowering and encouraging a person not limiting shaming by forcing them to admit they are powerless from the beginning! My research shows AA only has a 5% success rate. Not very credible if you ask me.

I know a full proof way to get off Suboxone. Quick. 7 years of Suboxone kicked in 2 weeks. 2 weeks of Adderall and never touch anything again

Day 17 off suboxone and there’s is already a huge change in my drive, my appetite and ability to want to be the best version of myself. Suboxone is poison. Currently trying to put on some muscle weight and have been forcing myself to do some lifting and eating 3 meals a day with snacks in between. If you’re thinking about switching to suboxone really think again. Pray for me y’all. 🙏

It's amazing to be able to redeem ourselves and pick up where we left off, to forgive ourselves for those we've wronged, everyday is a new script we can write. To reestablish your relationship with your Daughter is a gift. Now is a gift, that's why it's called the present. Much respect!
