Ive always used the used oil to lube the gasket and never filled filter. Just the way i was taught 100 yrs ago and its never let me down

Unless the oil filter mounts sideways then I wouldnt advise filling it.

Unless you are working with diesel engines or old car you don’t need to prefill the oil filter. In modern cars the oil pressures are extremely high. Like for a Subaru engine , how are you supposed to prefill? Or any engine that has the oil filter on top of the engine? Oil around the ring yes, if the oil filter gasket doesn’t come pre lubed. It’s always wise to lube up the filter.

Locktite does wonders

I did that with an oil filter once. I always check any surface with a gasket now.

Same issue on my 94 Chevy Silverado 1500 v8.. the connectors brittled off. Truck having a idle issues

Dude you are awesome! I had my sons camaro in the shop for 3 days and they could not get it to stick but as soon as my son gets it home it sticks! This has been happening way too much and getting him stuck places waiting for key to unlock. I applied your fix and this is a miracle! You are amazing sir!

Another guy takes a metal wire brush that you put onto a drill then scrape the paint of in the same place where you screw it in and uses a star washer to make sure it connects to the metal... .just a thought!

2015 Camaro SS. This is happening 2009 to 2015s according to AAA and they get a ton of calls for this. AaA was here for 9 mins and we got key out and it was free (i tipped for his time though) . But apparently its temporary so you do need to do this video... we will start when we know what bolt/screwdriver tool we need. It looked like an uncommon tool that is 21$ at ace from other videos AAA came and wemt to the engine..unhooked engine..rehooked and turned on and key came out and said key was bad so we used spare key today. Learned fhis is a temporary fix (AAA did this for free by the way if you need to go somewhere soon and dont have the tools). So again now key stuck...your video helped were just confused bexause other videos sakd a different tool but looked like you used a screwdriver? What did you use?

Mazda sucks

Video was 100% spot on. It took me about ten minutes since I never did this before. I couldn't have done this without the video. Chevy dealer was going to charge me $100 just for diagnostics and for parts, if needed. They probably would have charged for unneeded parts.
