I remember listening to this in your studio, and I was there at the Austens 2000 filming. When I played it I remembered the lyrics instantly, so clearly a memorable song. Weird seeing my old school chum Steve pop up at the end. Thanks for posting :)

Thank you! It was made from ropey phone footage of a touring band I was in for a few years. The track captures that trippy feeling of being tired but unable to sleep in a vehicle. Glad you liked the ending, I doubt many made it that far ;) Cheers!

Wow! I never knew this existed. Pretty good recording, given the resources at yer disposal, but think what could have been done even with today's home studio setups. That said, thank heavens no professional 80s studio got their mitts on it - smothering it with 80s gloss & sheen would have done it no favours.

Thank you for appreciating my efforts with fairly limited gear :) I managed to salvage the original 8 track recordings a while back & will be "sympathetically" remastering this and many other projects from the 80s in the near future. I even found a third track that we'd recorded that I'd completely forgotten about!

Hi Stevie! I am so happy you have a youtube channel. I was wondering if you would consider doing a digital re-release of Murdoch Most Foul and your other 90s projects. I think a lot of people would rather support you than pay hundreds on discogs. I know I would :] Hope you are well!

You're welcome Simone. Last year I archived all of my old 8-track recordings & at some point will remaster them. I found another song with your Mum & Richard that I'd forgotten about. The best thing about having the individual tracks is all the messing about & giggling that gets cut out.... thats the real gold. Hope you & yours are all safe & well xxx

Where can I get a copy of this cassette?

Hi Robyn, thanks for your message & apologies for the delay. The cassette was only a limited release & the copies that still exist probably sound dreadful. Last year I digitised all of my old projects from 8-track 1/4 inch tape. I plan to remaster them over time & make them available online. Please visit again for updates :)

@@Snowdome111 Hi Stevie, any updates on this? Also, do you know who owns the rights on the songs on "Twisted Systems Vol. 1"? I believe a small reissue would be gladly received by the community right now. Cheers!

@@dr.pekelharing7401 After months & months of remastering dozens of tracks in my spare time I am having a break but will resume next year. Regarding Twisted Systems the Murdoch Most Foul track belongs to me but unfortunately the only master tape that I know of is damaged. I would never be able to recreate such an organic piece that was produced on very basic equipment. The limited pressings were not great either so a remaster from vinyl is not a good option. Unless the other DAT resurfaces or I can recreate the damaged part of the existing DAT I'm afraid (& truly gutted) that it may only exist as rare vinyl & badly ripped mp3s. Your interest is much appreciated : )

@@Snowdome111 Thanks for the reply! Unfortunate, we'll have to do with the compressed mp3s I suppose. Nevertheless, thanks a lot for such a pioneering addition in the canon of electronic music.

Cheers for the comment :) I am currently in the process of archiving/ digitising boxes of 8-track sessions from the 80's before the tapes turn to mush! I've found some gems & I'm hoping to find the original reel of this track but I could well have recorded over it. If I do find it I will certainly be reworking it though even if I do it could be limited as I used to bounce a lot of tracks together... watch this space!

I was wondering if your Steve Martin based in Northampton I think in the 80's and knew a Lrry Babs though don't what his surname is now who gave you a demo tape os a track recorded at Mikro Studio's in Milton Keynes called "Nightmare?" Which really was my demo he stole around 1984- 85?

Hi Maggie! Thanks for your lovely response. It bought a few tears to my eyes because the whole reason I made these tributes is because I could find no record of Leo on KZbin which was so wrong for someone that made such an impact on so many. I am so pleased that you found this : ) The club you're referring to was Das Bunker, & was where I met Leo, so our paths probably crossed! Take care : )) x

Hi, my name is Maggie - I don't know why but I thought about Leo today- for the first time in God knows how many years -and stumbled on this. I was at Nene College and was in a band during that time. I remember Leo vividly. So sorry to hear that she is no longer with us. I wasn't a close friend, but moved around in the same circles-not hard. There was a club called Das Boot, a few pubs and that was the height of it! Leo was distinctive, talented, outrageous and beautiful. And this is lovely.

Sophie, I may have told you this already, but I lost touch with Leo for several years & couldn't find her anywhere online once we had the luxury of the internet! When I felt the bombshell that she was no longer with us I made it my mission that anyone searching Leo Casey would find some record of her musical existence.... she was a star, a very bright star : ) x

Sophie I hope the tears are *happy sad* coz as much as I miss Leo these are very happy memories of my time with your mum, doing what she enjoyed. I'm afraid I only have the two recordings that are on my KZbin page & the photos that were taking during that time. We did record another track anonymously with The Gunslingers after a party, but I've not been able to find the track as yet! There are a few photos from that session, will try & dig them out ; ) Much love to you & yours xxx

This episode was repeated to death but being the BBC they couldn't do any branding stuff. I made a point of tagging the Greengate DS-3 in this coz I think its an unsung hero re the progress of 80's electronica. It was a *relatively* cheap option for the not so rich & enabled quite a few of us to get our heads round sampling before it became mainstream. It was amazing what you could do with a couple of seconds of sample time! I loved my DS-3 & its still in storage in my folks loft : ))
