Completely agree. Just unpacked mine and frustrated that the cheapskates at EVO didn’t include the hex key to go with the screws… not impressed!

I almost got tripped up by the little screws close to the rack ear. I got it started and used my finger to get it flush. Then I tightened it with the key.

Hey, very interesting video, I am looking at getting a Toft ATB 24 and was looking at the Audient Evo 16 but as you stated I did not fancy 2x the SP8 for the same reason as u, Farrofish was the direction I was heading, so same set up as you with the console, are you using the evo and light piping the farrofish for your 24 tracks ? And using the Audient usb to get to the computer, how do they work together ? And if your using your desk preamps how do u deal with the preamps on the Evo ? Do you just keep the volume low and use the gain on the desk as you can’t bypass the pre on the Audient Thanks man would be great if you could answer this for me Take care

Greetings Alexander, I purchased the Pulse 16 and I do have it connected to the Evo 16 via ADAT, in and out, and Wordclock, Evo out to Pulse in. I have all of the analogue i/o going to my patchbay, where they're half-normalled to the console's direct outs and tape returns. The console is old and noisy, which can be great in some instances but not always, so when I want the dirt, I increase the gain at the console stage and adjust the interface accordingly. When I want less dirt, I reduce the output level from the console and, again, adjust the interface accordingly. It's not a perfect system, by any means, but it works for me, for now, and at this price point, I can't think of anything that's better. I hope this helps.

Hey man sorry to bother you again, how are you connecting the evo to the ferrofish ? u said word clock which makes sence and also adat, the evo has 1 x in and out optical but the ferrofish has 2 1-8 in out and 9-16 in out with this set up and your console are you getting 24 in outs ? thanks this kind off set up is new to me cheers again Alex

@@alexanderburrell-mixengine1149 Hi Alex, the Evo 16 has two sets of ADAT i/o, which can be used for up to 16 extra channels depending on the sample rate. The Pulse 16 has four sets of ADAT i/o, which allows it to be used at higher sample rates without losing channel count (SMUX), but because the Evo only has two sets of ADAT i/o, I can't take advantage of this feature. Therefore, the maximum physical i/o I can use with my computer and console is 24 at sample rates of 44.1 or 48 KHz, if I wanted to record/mix at 88.2 or 96 KHz I would lose access to 8 of those channels due to the limitations of the ADAT protocol. Please let me know if this helps you and feel free to ask me any more questions.
