I relate to the rowing out issue when purling as a continental knitter. What I have found that works best for me is to wrap the yarn around my pinky finger when working on the purl rows only. Also a suggestion for the armhole on your beautiful blue tank. I had that happen earlier this summer on a top and I was able to use a crochet hook and slip stitch around the armholes. I was able to bring the armholes up enough without pucking by not being too aggressive with the slip stitches.

I think it's totally up to you! I have buttons on the cardigan I made, but I've only ever buttoned the top one. As long as it's secured well to the garment, they should be fine!

This is the first of your podcasts I’ve seen but I loved your beautiful projects! I’m a relatively new spinner and made an order with world of wool last month and it was really good, well packaged (all the tops I ordered came packaged in separate plastic bags - not great for the environment but great if you’re worried about bugs) and the order came really quickly (I’m based in the UK. I didn’t order any carded fibre as I didn’t realise they had any at the time but will definitely be trying it in the future. I got a couple different breeds and some dyed Corriedale and it’s all been very nice to spin with. Hope that’s helpful! Now to catch up on your older podcasts!

Thanks for saying that knitting can be an expensive and wasteful hobby! So many YT videos going "just buy this, just buy that ..." Great to see more people re-using second-hand clothes in this way. Just a tip, not all side seams are done the same way. I'm currently unpicking a tightly (machine) knit jumper/sweater which has 'invisible' seams. The knitted sections have edges slightly folded inwards and sewn together, using a strand of the wool plus a strand of same colored cotton. It is very cleverly done to make the garment as seamless as possible, which makes it hard to undo. But will be worth it in the end.

I don't have any practical tips regarding the end of your maternity leave. Just take it easy and let yourself adjust to a new situation for a while. I was on maternity leave for five months, and my son went to daycare once I had to go back to work. I remember he was there just for a few hours on the first day, and I was circling around the daycare, not knowing what to do with myself. It was hard, but it became better with time. And it's really great to talk with adults and drink a hot cup of coffee :-)

My heart goes out to you about the end of your maternity leave! I would talk to your supervisor about potentially leaving early some days if she is having a hard day, just so you have a backup plan, having an exit strategy makes me feel better when I am away from my little guy. So great you don’t have to go back to full time out of the house! Love all your spinning learning journey! My baby just turned one. I think getting into spinning if/when I get pregnant with my second will be great timing. Love your slipover! Makes me want to get the pattern. XO from Alaska
