I love Glen he’s so awesome I skied (well straight lined just to keep up) once or twice at mammoth as a kid. So i bought some elans but I was not a fan of the ski.

Hi there i was thinking about getting Ripsticks 116(2024) mainly for touring in deeper days. i was wondering between 185 and 193 sizes. I'm 188 72kg intermediate-advance skier. I guess 193 should be the size to go for but was wondering if the 23m vs 20m radius won't a hassle in the trees. also ~400g weight saving per ski (according to website) is always welcome for touring setup. So I'm tipping towards 185, do you think do will be to short for me and will compromise downhill?

I’ve skied Elan Skis for decades and as my 2014 Elan Amphibio 14’s are asking for retirement I am shopping the short radius market. The primetime 55 is looking like a contender. As the trend toward wider waist all mountain groomer skis continues I find that my 89TI’s as my wider ski here in Vermont are not as responsive on the side of trails where my short radius/ slalom turns happen. Is this the first year of production for the Primetime?

I know this video is 2 years old but I'm seeing it for the first time today. I usually buy American skis, like, ON3P, Moment skis, Fat-ypus, Voilé.....my last 2 free touring skis are Skilogik Yeti (it's was a small American brand that disappeared and Voilé). I never bought skis of big European brand, it's the first time. Yesterday I bought the Elan ripstick tour 104 and I'm really looking forward to being able to ski them. I think it's very cool that Elan listens to the athletes and applies suggestions even they are alternatives. Happy of my purchase and sure that I won't be disappointed. I known Elan are doing great skis.

Hi There! In need of some advice! 10 weeks of skiing experience, in control on piste (upto 100kph), but slightly insecure with huge bumps etc at the end of the day. Love to do carving but I would also like to be able to ski properly whit a little snowfall. In my opinion, 44 would be a little narrow and stiff. So I think it goes between the 33 and 55+. What would you guys think is the best option for me, 33, 44 or 55+?

Hi @diovdL, 55+ is stiffer than 44, so even that the waist would be good, it could be too stiff ski after 10 weeks. 33 would be great choice.

I had a pair of Elan skis that sheared on a beginner run. The company denied my warranty request. I would not trust their workmanship, nor the company.

Sorry to hear that. We have strict rules for warranty claims, and each case is evaluated based on same standards globally.

Sadly, Elan skis are not reliable. Mine broke from top the bottom on a beginner run. They were brand new. Elan will not honor their limited warranty. Do not trust the quality, workmanship, or company.

I wouldn't trust Elan Skis. I had a pair shear top to bottom on my 3rd use, on a beginner run. Elan will not honor their warranty. Poor quality, and will not stand by their product.

What are you talking about poor quality. A company that's been around for almost 80 years would not be in business because of poor quality. With state of the art machines and skilled workers in the video, where do you see poor quality. I have been using the same Elan skies for the last 20 years and have no issues. If everyone was like you wanting free skies of course you'd put them out of business. Maybe your destroying the skies because your a beginner skier. Try a new sport.

Watching Elan's video about their modern ski manufacturing process truly impressed me. As a personal user of Elan's Amphibio skis, I can attest to their outstanding quality and performance. These skis have absolutely fulfilled my expectations. I highly recommend Elan's skis to anyone in search of top, reliable gear.

Excellent advert for the new skis. Elan always trying new innovative ski design. I ski on Ripstick 96 Black Edition and love them!!! Happy days from Scotland!!!!
