We were untill King of the Hammers this year. We blew the motor after losing a fan clutch. The motor had over 220k on it. We built a new motor at hammers and then replaced the trans right before this race so everything is fresh.

Awesome work, guys! Congrats. Also, that's super nice being able to run pump gas. We had to deal with so many drums of 110 to fuel 2 cars at this race, and were filling dump cans from drums in the hotel parking lot for hours the night before the race. Filling dump cans at the pump between pits would be so much easier. Getting a 4600 car to the end of this race is so awesome. Really stoked for you guys.

You guys run Icon's IIC system? What inputs does it use? G-force and vehicle speed? To meet rule 3.9.7-2 I imagine it cannot or must not be enabled to use shock position? Is this something the team has to block in the software or did Icon pretty much produce these shocks for 4600 class? In the same vein the rule states you can't use position but I guess velocity (dx/dt) is okay? The whole system seems like it would be a lot of fun to mess with and tune.
@sherpamotorsports5 ай бұрын
Hi John, The shocks do not have any sensors, it is all based on G-Force inputs on the vehicle chassis and adjusts the CDC based on those inputs. It is a unique and cool way to do it, it fits within the Ultra4 rule book and works very well.

So what did you do to address the lack of an ADD front diff with he FJ case? Has there been any issue with wear in the T-Case or is it a non issue?
@sherpaec7 ай бұрын
It has not been an issue in our application. Though highway speeds for long periods of time is where you'll see the issue occur. Everything in the case is spinning so it builds up pressure and will push oil out of the shift boot.
@stuffthings7 ай бұрын
@@sherpaec Do you think tapping the case and adding a breather line similar to what other cases have would solve this?
