Thanks agsin for all your work around woody thats a big source and for your answer about setup. Cause your asking my favourite mouthpieces are yamaha bobby shew „jazz“ and yam. 16/4GP and i startet off with the Austrian Breslmayer G2 , i play some vintage horns like the easy getzen capri and the shew horn (Z) and the fantastic yamaha ytr8335RS25th annyversary (curvy vertical braces)

Whats your setup (mouthpiece and trumpet) at this stellar video?
@Teusnobel11 ай бұрын
Hi! I play Adams Brass horns, both trumpet and flugelhorn. I believe I was playing a Bach5C at the time of this video, right now I’m playing the quite allround Yamaha Bobby Shew Jazz mouthpiece. And you?

Congratulations! To my ears you have achieved even a similar sound like mr. Shaw…

No I won’t, Caballus1! So fun that this video is still doing so well, it was a jamsession in Amsterdam and someone just put his phone up. Actually, this Friday I will release the fourth single of my upcoming album (After Hours, released sept. 15th) and it is, I’m not kidding: “Gnid”! Still in a version with double bass and guitar but now recorded in a studio, earlier this year. You can find/presave it here on Spotify, Apple Music etc: ffm.to/teusnobelgnid All the best, Teus

There's some stuff about triad pairing here too, for who's interested. It was an interview with jazz trumpeter Alex Sipiagin and was a part of my research into Woody Shaw: teusnobelar.wordpress.com

Thanks for liking this video peeps! I've recently put a video online with some material I researched during my masters degree. I dug deep into the legacy of trumpeter Woody Shaw, to whom the tune you have been listening was dedicated. If you're interested, please check it via this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4Gkqmupmst-sMk

This is great work. Thank you for posting. A large amount of material to play with on this video. Excellent post. My favorite pattern is at 22:45 with 2nds and 4ths. The most fluid and logical to the ear. I love this approch.
@Teusnobel4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Micky! Well, I DO realize that it is a lot thats flying around your ears in this video and I doubted about cutting it up into a few separate videos. But I came to the conclusion I like it more as a coherent whole instead of bits and pieces. And please realize this is still a summary.. ;) The thesis contained much more material. About the 2nd and 4ths, yeah I like those too, a LOT. Using them again and again in my solos, its just so hip!
